If you haven't seen the discourse on X, you should check it out. A lot of people losing their minds over weird armor, dark/drab filters, odd set choices, Norse ships etc and then the TC types calling them dorks and losers and stuff. It's an entertaining scroll.

Having seen what is out there, I'm now expecting a very odd adaptation which I'll still probably like aspects off. It's going to be cool in its own way, and I get the "trust Nolan" sentiment because he knows how to tell a good story.

I like to think about what people are going to be complaining about in 2000 years when they make their modern interpretation of Harry Potter. People are going to be all, "No! Wizards back in the 1990s rode on broom sticks with straw bristles. Those broom sticks with Nylon bristles didn't even come out until the 2000s, so there's no way Wizards could have actually flown them during the Battle of Hogwarts!"

I'm not there yet because I want to see the film first. There could be a narrative reason Nolan chose these designs. It could be these are visual cues for something going on in a part of the storyline. I don't know. That's why I'm at the wait and see mode.

Go for substance over dunking. Did Rowling believe in or worship what she wrote? Did she write to people who believed it to be true? Maybe Homer is in a different category than someone who wrote a fictional tale that fits many genres including the fairy tale…

I think it's worth mentioning that nearly all of the art from the 6th Century BC when most of stories were being passed down and turned from oral histories into tangible art were black and red/orange.

I'm down, but there's no way a cool guy like TC goes to the movies with a total ****ing dork. But if that happened yall would be kinda disappointed because even if it doesn't have the right look, I'll probably still enjoy it like 6/10 minimum. Napoleon wasn't great but I didn't leave outraged.

Looks like this might be another good movie by a director I like.

Not sure why you guys care about the historical accuracy of what people are wearing. It's a movie not a documentary. You see them to have fun.
