My wife and I feel somewhat the same. Itsjust a different show than Season 1 was. And they will 100% undoubtedly end this season on a cliffhanger. That's the whole gimmick of this show.

I am different than some of you in that I have really enjoyed this season. I like the storyline outside the bunker, and the only characters still down there who I cared about are still prominently featured.

What I don't like is the twist with the Gary character. I enjoyed his episode quite a bit up until the last 60 seconds. Now, I cringe each time he opens his mouth, and I really don't understand his motivations as nothing he's doing makes sense.

We've really enjoyed this season.

The first two episodes had me worried that it was going to be a season full of 1-off episodes about a single character.

The huge trap, called after season 1, is can the writers differentiate the show from every other post-apocalypse show moving forward?

I think they've done well with the continued character flashbacks. The twist in Jane's origin story steers the boat towards a shark however.

I'm only 3 episodes in but I am not exactly hooked. So far it is just another apocalypse show to me, although I can see the potential to rise above. I agree about Marsden- his layered and commanding performance is sorely missed.

Lots of lost vibes now. Worried in a few years people will make the same excuses they did for lost. "Oh it was never about the bunker or the end of the world and was always just about how these characters bonded and went through this ordeal"

Right. I can see the show already veering off from what (I was lead to believe) it was in Season 1.

And I'm someone who loves Lost for what it became - a show about that group of characters, rather than the mystery island. But Paradise so far is falling way short of a group of characters that you deeply care about. Personally, the only living character I like and am interested in is Xavier (although Sinatra is shaping up to be a good villian).

Amazing show and refreshing to have good writing and acting for a change.

The futuristic visions do worry me that this will involve a Time Machine or something stupid.

Agree, the acting is the clear strength of this show. Three roles got Emmy nods.

Me too. I've just seen other people talking about it. Then apparently her dead son shows up at the bunker door and she goes to see "Alex". I just have a feeling it's about to get convoluted and lose me.

I'd say it comes from the odd Circuit City employee from ~30 years back getting repeated messages about baby Jane coupled with the implication that the head villain seems to believe her son now is alive somehow once she heard the birthdate of young resistance leader.

Oh, and maybe I should learn these characters' names.

This. The Jane episode made it pretty clear there's some time travel component coming. Couple that with the Dylan reveal this week, and Xavier having the weird visions and effects on his perception.

I thought at first the energy consumption issue they fought about earlier in the season was going to be a terraformer, but the show is veering off into something with time.

I didn't pick up on any time travel stuff but after doing some googling it makes sense that there's potentially some sort of time travel component to the show. I won't post any of that here since it could be a bit spoilery even if it's just speculation.

there's also something to sinatra and her husband talking about how their kid would be 26 and now this link guy is also 26 which if they're the same person in different realities then link's kid is sinatra's grand kid etc.

I feel like they were pretty heavy handed with clues about some kind of time shenanigans when Sinatra was having a conversation with the scientist that was trying to raise the warning signal about what was going to happen in Antarctica. He told her something along the lines of "you can't buy time".
