.... The source is his mouth. The tweet is just a convenient way of presenting it to you. But instead of watching him being dishonest about what's in the Bible and the birth of his God (because after all, he's in seminary, he should know), you decide it's inappropriate to pay attention because you don't like the people who pointed out his dishonesty. Truth is truth. He lied about what's in the Bible, and there's the Bible verse for you to compare it against.

What you're looking for is "Oh, I didn't know he did that kind of stuff. Maybe I should investigate further."

And just FYI. Being in the seminary does not mean you're an honest actor about Christianity and the Bible. There are TONS of people preaching in churches with seminary degrees using the Bible like a Ouija board to push their word rather than what's actually in the Bible.

Again, not even religious. Just appreciate Christianity for what it's done for the world. Watching Talarico and people like the woman above do to it what they're doing is pretty gross. That is not a sermon attempting to get people closer to God, it's a sermon trying to get people closer to progressive politics.

I just skimmed this 4 page thread. Decided that I'm going to the Politics Board then the Religion Board to start threads on my Top 5 Movies and Top 5 Albums. Let's mix it up in here!

The angel comes to Mary says that she will conceive and birth a child, that child will be God's son, that son will be named Jesus and he will be given David's throne and he will become the leader of Jacob's people for the rest of time.

So God forced Mary to get pregnant. Someone needs to cancel that guy.

I also love Democrats complaining about the equal-time-rule and "fairness doctrine" stuff when it was their leaders who advocated for such things...when in reality, it should have been the GOP pushing for it, given the long standing prevailing biased for the left in the media and entertainment industry.

Cool. I trust you want this applied to talk radio, which is also under the same purview by the FCC.

Yeah, just about. But it's worse when it's a politician who wants to take more from you, and also make the city more dangerous for your loved ones. One who says we need to take in unvetted third world bangers because the Bible is against borders and Jesus wouldn't have turned anyone away, or some such completely made up nonsense.

Jesus was famously in favor of refusing to help strangers

jesus helped strangers and the poor as a metaphor of God's love for all mankind.

Jesus lived in a time where King's ruled over all men in absolute worse conditions that is fathomable today in western society. Yet, he made zero advocacy for contempt against the Kings or revolution to overthrow their rule.

Using piety or religion in general as justification for socialistic ideals is false doctrine.

Someone tell that to the folks trying to put the Ten Commandments in classrooms. Or is that "different?"

what content of the 10 commandments do you - or anyone is civil society - take offense to exactly?

Murder
Theft
Adultery
Coveting
Honoring parents
Etc

Or it is just because it comes from the bible?

Half of them are about protecting God's ego. The other half are already against the law.

And now you know the basis for the law.

My guy, I hate to break it to you but the Bible is not the basis of US law or even western law. Ancient Rome, which pre dates Jesus by centuries, not only had laws for basic human liberties such as murder and theft but civil and contract law administered through trial courts. Ancient Greece and Egypt also had common criminal and civil laws that permeated how western civilization developed under codified law and order. Not some allegory of an old man showing some carvings into stone.

If you think Jesus presented the Ten Commandments to the world, you are not making yourself look very intelligent.

If only there were a movie about the Ten Commandments where you could quickly get up to speed on the history of said stone documents.

The 10 Commandments are hardly the first examples of law.

Are you 5? The entire collective knowledge of all human history is a single 'Google' prompt away. The "Code of Ur-Nammu is the oldest known surviving law code (roughly 2,000 years BEFORE Christ). It is from Mesopotamia and is written on tablets, in the Sumerian language. Although it is known that earlier law-codes existed, such as the Code of Urukagina, this represents the earliest extant legal text. It is three centuries older than the Code of Hammurabi. The laws are arranged in casuistic form of IF (crime) THEN (punishment); a pattern followed in nearly all later codes. It institutes fines of monetary compensatioin for bodily damage as opposed to the 'eye for an eye' principle of Babylonian law. However, murder, robbery, adultery and rape were codefied as capital offenses.

No it's not...none of us know a single legal immigrant who is being harrassed. If there are any, it is a relative handful nationwide. I know tons of legal immigrants, including my family, I work with man, friends with many...all good, trust me.

But i do find it funny that you guys didn't cry thesame crocodile tears under Obama. CNN literally did a ride around with ICE under his admin as a fluff piece...during that program, ICE accidentally nabbed the wrong guy, and they goaltended for ICE, explaining how difficult their jobs are and that someties they make mistakes.

This is ALL partisan manufactured outrage. There's only chaos in the streets of certain places because it was planned and intentional because "Orange Man Bad".

As a Christian who actually tries to follow Christ's teachings I can't wait to vote for Talarico.

Back to the topic at hand. The YouTube video is now over 3 million views. Trump and his cronies are idiots. You let this interview play out like normal and maybe you get 100K views.

Jesus and the apostles would want ZERO mention of his name in schools or other public places lol! Totally biblical!

But yeah, continue to vote democrat...keep fervently supporting the party that constantly pushes depravity and misleads children...

The angel comes to Mary says that she will conceive and birth a child, that child will be God's son, that son will be named Jesus and he will be given David's throne and he will become the leader of Jacob's people for the rest of time.

So God forced Mary to get pregnant. Someone needs to cancel that guy.

Don't look up her age either.

How far away are we from some right-wing influencer arguing Epstein had a biblical basis for his activities? The fox news folks already called him a sex-rabbi.

All the right wingers I know HATE Epstein and wish they could hunt pedophiles. Your party has coined the term "Minor Attracted Persons"...and I have even heard liberal Ted Talks talking about how we should be more accepting of these peopel and treat them with dignity lol.

We've already discussed that talk show interviews have been exempt from the equal time provision for like 60 years.

Except for the parent company airing Colbert, CBS, putting out a memo that they essentially aren't (or aren't willing to test it).

But you do you.

That's the whole point of this discussion. The current admin has changed the legal landscape.

It sure has for the illegals!

And legal immigrants. It's a **** show all around!

Is that a fact? How many legal immigrants have been deported?

Reuters found that ICE has detained people illegally over 4,400 times, since October.

https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/courts-have-ruled-4400-times-that-ice-jailed-people-illegally-it-hasnt-stopped-2026-02-14/

Typical schmendeler goalpost moving after he gets called out. Poster asks how many have been deported. He replies with "detained" cases, many of which have been appealed and held up as lawful.

Really? Every single immigrant getting arrested when they're showing up TO THEIR COURT HEARING isn't harassment?

TBH with the amount of money and resources getting thrown into DHS, the roving patrols, the abuse of the 4th amendment under the guise of administrative warrants, and all of the arrests and detainments, Trump's administration actually kinda sucks at deporting illegal immigrants. His numbers are comparable to Obama's, who didn't need all of garbage you're justifying.

It's all a clown show, your guy just happens to be wearing the makeup.

You really think Trump has molested children? Did he eat them too or just molest?

He reported Epstein in 2006 and called Ghislaine "evil" and said cops should look into her...banned from Mar a Lago as well. All as part of 4000D chess to provide cover so that he could engage in child molestation many years later because he is brilliant and super patient and great at playing the long game!

You want to play false equivalency games "Professor"?

I'll be your huckleberry, and I'll happily bring receipts.

The very first post on this thread was a lie by omission btw. The key difference is that Talarico is a candidate. Doesn't your "grew up a poor girl" Jasmine get equal time?

I know that might be too subtle of a distinction for you leftists, but try to keep up.

This is very Disingenuous. As a non-religious family that has raised 3 kids through Texas public schools, I can tell you first hand, there is no shortage of Jesus and Christianity being mentioned in schools. My kids were far and away in the minority when comes to them being 'unchurched'. They lost friends over it through the years.

I can't tell you how many times we went to teacher parent conferences and the teacher had a cross on or around her desk and/or Biblical quotes.

The Christian persecution complex about public schools in American is ridiculous.

Obama called himself the deporter in chief and praised Homan, but liberals on F16 tell me those numbers were highly fudged and he actually deported a miniscule fraction of what was reported any time I bring this up.

Which is it?

And what evidence do you have to show that ICE wasn't operating similarly back then? You probably think the border detention facilities were different too.

My biggest concern is safe cities for my offspring. Every blue city has gotten more and more dangerous and disgusting over the last decade or two. I am pleased by how many gang bangers and rapists and pedos are being snatched off the streets. It's my fav thing about this admin.

Your boy Biden really effed up by just letting millions and millions of unvetted people in for political purposes. The cleanup project is MASSIVE.

I am not claiming persecution, you are. OMG a teacher with a cross!

This nation was founded as a predominantly Christian nation. It was always predominantly Christian, up until recently. Most of the original states has official state religions. Be glad we were not setup to be a tyrannical secular dystopia. You atheists are so ungrateful....don't even realize what beneficiaries you are. You know how many millions have been killed by secular anti-religious regimes through history? Hundreds of Millions.
