The problem is that Willie Mays Hays would have been stealing on the pitch that buzzes the tower (called steal), not the following pitch when Taylor actually lays the bunt down.

Why risk a fumble? Then to compound the mistake, somehow the Titans have to take a timeout following the change of possession to stop the clock?
Remember the titans took liberty with the guy who got in a car crash (Gary burtier I think). That part of the movie always bothered me with how sad it was and imo doesn't add that much to the story. Would've been epic to seen him in the last game.
Googled it and turns out that guy got in a car crash after the season so Disney did that just to f with us for dramatic effect
