30 hours on a NY street, not sure if that's lucky.

PearlJamHorn, I was there too all day monday. Where were you in line? I was standing in for a buddy about 30 people back. Had some interesting conversations with some homeless scalpers in line next to us.

If I lived or near NYC, I would have been there.

Working remotely from a laptop on the street isn't tough.

Also got to take in the entire immigration protest at the same time. A pretty surreal day in the Village.

I was number 126 in line. On the corner of W 4th St / Lexington still on the 4th street side. The parade was great!! The scalper dude sitting next to us jumped in the middle of it and grabbed a protest sign. He actually was interviewed by some reporter. That was awesome. He sold me his ticket for 300. So now I have one for my fiance who is coming in Tomorrow.

Clive Davis handed me a donut! That was fun. Friday will be fun and Letterman will be cool tomorrow. I heard that they are actually going to do two songs on Letterman.

I'm a software engineer in Austin. I just took the whole week off. Actually most of the month of May ! I am able to work remotely when I am gone. I worked about 10 hours or so even though I had the whole week off. But I don't do normal vacations. This is what I save my time up for. My fiance is also in the 10C and we travel to shows when we can.

You suck.

They've apparently soundchecked Life Wasted for Letterman tonight.

We were 3rd row center for the Letterman tonight. We were let in before the rest of the crowed. They soundchecked life wasted 2x, gone, and marker in the sand. The later two they played for the fanclub show after the taping. We listed to the aftershow from outside the side door of the theatre and got some good pics of Ed, Matt and Jeff. I'll post them later tonight.

Awesome show last night. Red Mosquito, Satan's Bed, RATS!! WTF? Are you making the trip over to Hartford? I'm in Chicago right now. Plane lands in Hartford about 1:15 EDT. Gonna be another great one. Time for WMA and Leash tonight!

Just got back to my hotel room. Solid show tonight, but not as good as Albany, IMHO.

The tracks from the new album really work well live. Loved Inside Job and Mike bringing out the heavy artillery.

Now it's back to the real world for a few days before hitting up Grand Rapids and Cleveland next weekend!

As some of you who read the Entertainment board may know, I travelled to see Pearl Jam in Albany, NY and Hartford, CT this past weekend.

I had an extra ticket for the Hartford show, and arranged on a PJ message board to sell it to another fan. I emailed the buyer my cell number, told him that I'd be getting to the venue early on Saturday so that I could pick up a show poster, and suggested that he send me his cell number.

I never get an email back from him.

Saturday rolls around and it turns out that a friend (guy who sold me tickets to my first Pearl Jam show, oddly enough) needs an extra to the show. I tell him that mine is claimed, but I'm unsure about the reliability of the buyer.

The doors to the venue opened at 5pm. The opener goes on at 7pm. At 6pm I haven't heard from the buyer, nor do I have his cell number since he neglected to provide it, so I make the decision to sell the ticket to my friend.

At 6:30, only a half hour before showtime, the buyer calls and wants his ticket. I tell him that I've been inside the venue for 90 minutes, it's 30 minutes from showtime, and I had to get rid of it since I couldn't get in touch with him and didn't want to risk the ticket going unsold.

I suggested that he buy a lawn ticket and further offered to work with a group of fans to get him "stubbed down" into the better seats. He declined.


Then, on Sunday morning - and repeated again this morning - I get a deluge of calls and emails from buyers in NYC responding to Craigslist ads for GNR and Radiohead tickets.

Craigslist removed the ad fairly quickly, but I still had to deal with 25+ emails and 35+ phone calls this morning, after handling another 30+ calls and emails yesterday.


Apparently the buyer is pissed at me for his failure to effectively communicate.

Just landed in Chicago. Picked up tickets. Not so great this time. Sec 121, row 5. First side section, stone's side.

Had to expect the Chicago shows would be tough pulls.

I'm expecting craptacular seats for the second night at East Rutherford and Vegas.
