1. The documents in the Classified Annex came to the CIA.
2. How/when they got to the FBI -- either as part of the Annex or via some other route -- is not known.
3. Durham got his hands on them, and created the Annex.
4. The Classified version of Durham's report makes reference to their contents.
5. Durham's Classified Report went to the AG.
6. The AG sent the report to the Cong. Intel Committees.

And, don't forget, the CIA got the docs from a friendly foreign ally -- suspected of being the Dutch.

So -- AGAIN -- the idea that the one and only copy of the "Classified Annex" was in a burn bag in a secret room of the FBI, and Patel and MAGA might have never known it existed if it had been timely destroyed ....

Is conspiratorial garbage being fed to the masses for clicks and giggles.

I'm with you on this one. I don't see this as accurate, but rather more sensational reporting. The phrase 'burn bag' has salacious implications to it as a casual news consumer, but I doubt this is what is being claimed on social media. Maybe we, and shipwrecked etc. are wrong, but I like the odds of the opposite being true, at least for now.

What I don't understand is how it has sat in a "burn bag" all these years and not disposed off?

One possibility that makes sense:

Quote:

This seems to have been a "secret" SCIF not in regular use, with very restricted access. So it is simply fell out of use and no one was tasked with cleaning it up, it's quite likely what was found was the result of inattention.

Keep in mind that we are talking about post-COVID DC where huge numbers of federal workers were allowed to work from home -- including FBI HQ staff.

Obviously those working with classified docs in SCIFs are coming to HQ, but staff was likely not there.

This was not a "Secret" room in that no one knew it existed. It was not known to be used as a SCIF

That's the thing, 'burn bag' connotes an urgent/immediate intent to destroy, but I don't think that is the case in pattern or practice from what little I have read/heard.

I guess burn bags are disposed of on a daily basis when outside the US? I would imagine the embassies and the CIA stations would actually burn them daily.

Probably, in different settings/agencies etc. If an embassy for instance is being hit by mortar fire, sure, vs. an FBI building in DC…on documents no one working there wants to have their career jeopardized by.

Document retention procedures/standards in law enforcement/law firms/government are ridiculously complex/obscure/silly because…they are written by a bunch of lawyers. Add in IT and you get the idiocy increased logarithmically (see; lovebird phones etc. wiped).

Interesting request for karma-
https://www.wnd.com/2025/07/get-taste-his-own-medicine-u-s-senator/

Senator Cotton is requesting a special counsel be set up to investigate special counsel Jack Smith.
Quote:

Cotton wrote, "I write requesting the Office of Special Counsel to investigate whether Jack Smith, Special Counsel for Attorney General Merrick Garland, unlawfully took political actions to influence the 2024 election to harm then-candidate President Donald Trump. As the Office of the Special Counsel is tasked with ensuring federal employees aren't conducting partisan political activity under the guise of their federal employment, you're well situated to determine whether Smith broke the law."
His letter is to Acting Special Counsel Jamieson Greer in the United States Office of Special Counsel, where he added, "Many of Smith's legal actions seem to have no rationale except for an attempt to affect the 2024 election resultsactions that would violate federal law."

Let us know when you are done reading and summarizing the annex for us.

Just watched Grassley's bit on with Hemmer on Fox and not much to say thus far.

Hemmer said there is breaking news Soros is referenced. Chuck said he would have to get back with him on that.

Soros pushing on this as well would be the least surprising element.

Quote:

"Based on the Durham annex, the Obama FBI failed to adequately review and investigate intelligence reports showing the Clinton campaign may have been ginning up the fake Trump-Russia narrative for Clinton's political gain, which was ultimately done through the Steele Dossier and other means. These intelligence reports and related records, whether true or false, were buried for years. History will show that the Obama and Biden administration's law enforcement and intelligence agencies were weaponized against President Trump.?This political weaponization has caused critical damage to our institutions and is one of the biggest political scandals and cover-ups in American history.?The new Trump administration has a tremendous responsibility to the American people to fix the damage done and do so with maximum speed and transparency," Grassley said.

"For years, I've fought to assemble and publicize all the facts surrounding Durham's investigation, Crossfire Hurricane and related matters. The American people shouldn't be shortchanged or strung out on matters of significant public interest, and that firm belief fuels my tireless oversight. It's been a refreshing change to see Attorney General Bondi and Director Patel's increased efforts to bring transparency to a very dark corner of the people's government. I hope that attitude continues, and you can be sure my oversight work will continue as well, because there's much work yet to be done," Grassley concluded.

Crowdstrike, eh? Who was their lawyer? Elias at Perkins, Coie. Who was the largest shareholder of Crowdstrike before they went public? Google. Who was one of Google's attorneys? Perkins, Coie. Who was Obama Foundation's attorney? Perkins, Coie. And the Hillary Campaign and the DNC and the DNCCC and on and on.

Go after that law firm and Marc Elias and any lawyer who was working for those clients at that time.

I need to go back at look, but "special services" is not capitalized but should be referring to something specific.

I find most conspiracy theories entertaining, but I recall coming across a sort of rarely referred to dedicated to the White House support group which among other things maintained the emails that Biden was using as VP to schedule meetings and coordinate with Hunter.

End of the day there was some massively shady **** going on in the Obama WH, particularly the 2nd term when they hate carte blanche to act in such manner thinking Hilldawg would just continue the project.

Then DJT came along.

The Bill and Loretta Tango on the Tarmac was a debrief for Bill. That meeting was in late June 2016.

The Comey presser exonerating Hillary was July 5, 2016. Bill and Hill were given the heads up what Comey was about to do.

Carnegie Endowment, Open Society, Clinton's lead staffer, Lynch/FBI/DoJ coordination, it's all there, even though she 'couldn't recall' if it was her idea or not to smear Trump with Russia accusations. Even includes 'well if he's not supporting nato then that's a huge problem.'

Get out of Nato, DJT, it's been a foil for the US for at least 15 years at this point.

I've forgotten, why didn't Comey and the deep state just ignore Hillary's server problem. I don't recall that much pressure on the situation. In hindsight, I think blowing it off like they do most of the time now, would have been a better approach. What they actually did, did not help her and it is patently obvious that mission #1for the deep state was to hurt Trump and by doing that, help her.
