Boasberg hearing is today (on AEA/El Salvador flights etc). Will see if the law/constitution happens to matter in his courtroom this week, or if it's all about his ego as usual.

What hearing is Boasberg having today?

Matching uniforms is not prerequisite to an invasion by an army.

Khaki pants and a wife beater is the uniform.

Honestly I think this was a good way to retaliate against everyone associated with Laken's killer. While I'd prefer a couple 2k JDAMs dropped into the head druglord's hacienda, getting their manpower out of the States is better for our country.

Sorry, appeals court hearing. An adult courtroom, my apologies on the confusion (I just see red when I read Boasberg's name at this point). Still, tough to predict.

What else would one expect from an Obama judge?

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

He has been all over the lawfare since the judges are trampling the separation of powers and many of them don't even have jurisdiction on the cases they're entertaining. Plus, he wrote Men in Black about judicial tyranny.

And a prognostication about the case becoming moot.

Whelp, stay denied.

On to SCOTUS.

LOL Major fail. The judge was comparing America's treatment of these illegals to people who were accused of being Nazis, in America, during WWII, that were deported via the AEA.

Correct. Also, compared to the volume taught and pushed about Hitler, the tyranny stories of Marxism get relatively little play. So its almost the only reference one with a standard education can invoke even if they are not meaning to be hyperbolic.

LOL The judges comment has nothing to do with Hitler's actions.

It would be best if you listen to the recording so you may make a more informed opinion, and comment.

What the observation was addressing was BMX Bandit's query "Why is there always a Hitler reference" tendency. I offered the likely one that is true for both press and politicians.

Once again, Hitler was not referenced in the judge's comment. It was about the deportation of Nazi's, in America, during WWII.

It was still invoking the Reich. The point remains. Its an issue have noted before-- that no other examples are in the public consciousness because omitted -- not taught. Once again too, BMX's question was general -- he was choosing to take it as a Hitler Reich reference and it certainly works as that.

No. She was talking about people, in America -- not the institution in Germany.

It was a completely relevant reference to one of the three previous times the AEA has been used.

He choose poorly. It was an ignorant assumption on his part.

Good! President Trump is using the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to get rid of gangs, cartels, and terrorist groups operating in the US.

It's not good. The law has a terrible past of misuse of power, it is archaic in its design, and it harms for more people than it ever was intended to help. Japanese internment is the most recent example. Are you happy people are being treated without care?

I find it interesting that the Italians and Germans never seem to be included in this argument. I wonder why that is.

If you decided to use that curiosity to seek an answer, you would learn that the scale in which the Japanese were treated and how the Europeans were treated was very different. It also didn't apply to all Japanese as Hawaiian Japanese were not. If the government has to allocate 1b in reparations and an official apology, it's a good guess it was pretty bad. Which it was, and no human being should be treated as subhuman like much of the rhetoric around undocumented migrants has become.

Edit: I didn't have an exact number on hand so I went back to one of my graduate papers on that very subject

About 15,000 citizens of European descent were interned, and around 120,000 citizens of Japanese descent were interned.

Speaking of "rhetoric". The newspeak of "undocumented migrants" is idiotic and indicative of low intellect by its use.

They are here illegally. And, they're alien to the country. Therefore, "illegal aliens" is the most apt descriptor and is the truth.

And if they're worried about any possible treatment, then maybe....oh, I don't know...don't come here illegally. Issue avoided.

Do you equate the plight and circumstances of the Germans and Japanese to be the same as illegal aliens who were induced to come to the US, who were paid by other nation to come to the US , where host nations coordinated the worst in their society to. come into America?

One of the top 3 MS13 gang leaders arrested in VA.

Moar please. Maybe Kash/Bongino really do have the FBI finally focused on…enemies and threats within now, instead of Latin masses/Trump's wife's underwear drawer etc.

And yet you diminish the plight of the Italians and Germans interned because more Japanese were interned. Would you argue that only Jews were victims of the Holocaust?

We wouldn't have the 'rhetoric' around illegal aliens if so many criminals/gang members hadn't been flown in by the Democrats over the past 4 years.

Fixing the problem required acknowledging we…have a problem, something some people like Laken Riley (and TDS stage-5 sufferers in media) are no longer able to do, themselves.

And the calls for people to be fired are…quite incredible, given the folks doing the calling.

And that one begat us 100K afghan refugees. But national security is so important to the left.

But in news on the thread topic, Trump has petitioned SCOTUS to Vacate Bozoberg's order and grant an administrative stay!
