These people know exactly what they are insinuating. That only encourages people who are mentally and emotionally unstable to act out. Look past the actual verbiage and think about the message. Is this what we need from people who have influence and reach?

We have a legal process to remove a sitting president. Invoke the 25th isn't much more difficult to say and doesn't require that many more seashells. But it's not as edgy is it? And it doesn't open up the interpretation of the true meaning does it? It doesn't give crazies ideas to act out. It's wrong and shouldn't be ok……..with ANYONE. We need to be better than that. The fact people think things like this are ok is why we are in the social and political divide we find ourselves in. Moral decay of society.

There are going to be a lot of similar examples without the justice department even opening an investigation which will be used by Comey's lawyers to demonstrate this is a strictly political prosecution.

Not sure he was thinking just that or if he was thinking "I'll do this and it is vague enough where folks can take it as 'killing' or dismiss as 'cut the mayo' and I can smugly shrug can claim that I thought it was harmless".

Edit to add: After reading Rockdoc's comment, that is the same path I am heading down. He had to consider the potential for someone to interpret that way and would highly likely be fine if someone did "86 Trump" in one way or another. As former FBI director, can he tight rope that continuum of what he could reasonably expect someone to interpret his post as? Is he held to a higher standard here?

I think the embarrassing part for him will be whatever he said in communications with others before and after this "incident". As Hawg has mentioned, this dude LOVES to talk about himself as much if not more than Trump. So good potential he said further dumb **** regarding this stunt.

But when looking at whether the law was broken, I don't think that makes a difference. Either a threat was conveyed by those numbers or it wasn't.

Does the law treat threats to POTUS differently if you whisper it to your friend over a glass of whiskey or if you blast it over the airwaves to millions? Serious question. Seems to me there would be a difference but maybe not.
