Very good Trump. F India

Can't think of a bigger **** hole country that needs us more than we need them. Next would be Trump removing the incentive to offshore jobs to India.

this is more due to India still supporting Russia

than it is them sending over millions of H1Bs and illegals

Exactly. They need us and undermine us on sanctions imposed on Russia. Iran too.

Trump has all the leverage. India has had it's chance to make a deal and is finding out what happens when you cross him. I expect them to come to the table in the near future and agree to Trump's terms, and thank him for the opportunity.

Same here. Especially when you're trying to talk to someone and finally get past the automated system labyrinth only to end up with someone that you can barely understand.

Trump has zero leverage. FIFY......

They have 1.5 Billion faces to feed. Cheap oil is the only way to keep their economy afloat. This will force them to choose a side. They'll turn to BRICS before the west. Keep the call centers going or keep the lights on. It's a pretty easy choice.

Of course the Indians will make some concessions to Trump (and he'll scream that he won) but they will still continue to buy Russian oil via proxies.

Trump will have to start a war before they stop buying oil from Russia.

We shifted everything to China, and started relying on them way too much.

Now with all the anti-China rhetoric, we're shifting everything to India and starting to rely on them too much.

Which country will it be after India?

And by proxy, it's a f*k Russia so that Russian oil will stop being bought.

Good Trump.

It's not just call centers a ton of technical jobs are being sent to India. Even if it takes 4 or 5 to do the job of 1 person in the US. If Trump fixed that it would be a big win for the US workers.

Hopefully this will stem the tide of Chinese crap being funneled through India to the US to avoid tariffs as well.

China buys more Russian crude oil than India does. Why are we not asking the Chinese to stop buying Russian Oil?

If all of a sudden the two most populous countries on earth stop buying russian oil, what does that do to oil prices for companies here in west texas? If price of oil drops by 30-40%, what does that do to Texans?

Why would the prices drop if you take away cheap oil from Russia? Wouldn't they rise because of new demand from China/India?

Oil prices won't drop, they will go up. This is good thing for oil workers and Texas.

i think this is a bit more nuanced than what some may think. in the short term we absolutely have the leverage but that leverage is decreasing. whether we like it or no the world is changing. that doesn't mean it can't be great for america but i am not sure the days of we say jump and everyone says how high will continue for that much longer. i think it it prudent to employee different strategies at different times. trump is all about the negotiation so i am sure this is part of that.

Aren't those call centers owned by American companies?

Simple supply and demand?

It's not like the supply of Russian oil goes way. Russia is going to keep pumping oil. All that oil will still be on the market. If you have a supply glut, prices for American oil will drop.

That would cause a massive uptick in demand for WTI, which would cause prices to go up rapidly, not down.

You don't understand how it works. If India stops buying Russian oil, India will have to buy it from the same producers that the US and other consumers buy from. That puts pressure on that supply and the price will go up. Russia will stop producing as much oil - they will leave it in the ground for now - because they are not able to sell it since they will have one less major buyer, India.

India is a very poor country with a horrible government, and an enormous economy/population. They basically have the worst of British autocracy without any of the benefits of an educated and prosperous middle class.

I am curious how this one plays out, as I am not sure they even have a capacity to meet what Trump might demand. And yes, I know their trade barriers/tariffs etc. are and have been horrid.
