Do you have any F'ing idea how normal it is for a tow truck to show up at a traffic stop? I'm guessing you have never been a cop.

Tow trucks commonly stop when they see police lights or you call dispatch to send one from the list. Hell they may have already been waiting on one to show up.

They were focused on the suspect not something the expect to see in the periphery.

And that dude should absolutely spend a couple years in club fed then about 5 on supervised release with US Probation with a leash up his azz.

You are most definitely (at least in state/local academies) taught to be aware of what is happening around you, the guys chose not to and were somehow surprised by the outcome.

Do it like Mexico, only give out rice once a day. Family has to bring food to the jails. Also, make the family pay for health care and any special treatments. That would save the tax payers some money.

I agree that it costs too much, but I would love to see your math on how you get it down to 4k/year.
You can't even pay the guards at that rate.
For example, according to their website the Wynn farm has 2621inmates and 323 guards (not including admin etc). 2621x 4k is 10.4 million Divide that by 323 and you get 32k/year per guard. TDC pay sucks but it isn't that low. That doesn't even consider maintenance of the building, uniforms, equipment and so on.

We need to make a huge cut in what it costs to house an inmate but liberals would frown on putting them in tents, no a/c, no heat. They need to work 40 hour weeks, grow their own food, etc.

There are plenty of costs that we have in this country that I wish we did not. Hand outs, whether food or housing or anything else, needs to be eliminated. Need to stop subsidizing health insurance, or anything else. Do away with refundable tax credits. A lot of things way more costly than locking up criminals.

Your use of "MAGA" is a tell.

Well I just threw the 4K number out there on a whim but I think it's possible. Your numbers come out to 8 prisoners for every guard. In FAFO Penitentiary you don't need that many. FAFO Penitentiary still houses 2621 Democrat voters (same as your example), but you only need 140 guards averaging $75K/yr to keep the peace at FAFO Penitentiary. There are more snipers than typical at FAFO Penitentiary and they have new, more reasonable rules of engagement so it's generally very peaceful there. And you only need a warden just like schools only need one principal.

Boom done.
