Is him returning to air by ABC's decision the easy way or the hard way?

From the thread regarding this on the E-board…so what does this even mean?

I've been wondering (I have no proof of anything, mind you) if ABC told Kimmel "we'll lift your suspension and allow you and your employees return to work on the show and keep getting paid, but we can't promise you that everyone will air it across the country."
ABC could be looking at this as a sunk cost, given his current contract only runs through next May, and they determined they have no legal path to terminate it early and save $…
So they let him continue to work and avoid lawsuits that will cost even more $, and simply cut their losses with what he is already owed…
To my knowledge, they can't force affiliates to air the show, even if they continue to provide the content…

He's supposed to return tonight with his big guest being Gavin Newscum so you can just imagine the circle jerk that would be bashing all things Trump and will likely get into the weeds on why he was suspended.

That's what I'm thinking as well. And honestly, there's nothing wrong with that. ABC provides the content and if an affiliate doesn't want to air it that's fine, there's others that will. That's as "let the market decide" as it gets.

I can only guess, but they will probably lay it at the feet of the FCC/Trump and say nothing of the fact that Sinclair and Newstar aren't carrying him as if he has some divine right to be on the air at all.

Did we really think that ABC was ultimately going to do the right thing? I fell for it and now I feel stupid.
ABC and jimmy k. are still **** and I won't be watching any more than I ever did (none) so I guess the world hasn't changed either way...
The fact anyone give a rats ass about this is astronomical

They will flex and say Trump tried to silence him but the people were to strong to overcome. Millions of people protested to get Jimmy back on the air. We are more powerful than MAGA!
Does that sound about right? Stars in tv and movies are delusional.

And given there's a 99% chance he doubles down on making an ass of himself and spewing lies and hate then even more affiliates may decide to follow

I'm beginning to think that if Brendan Carr would have kept his mouth shut, Kimmel would still be off the air.

FYI... Some of the local stations ARE corporate owned. I clicked over to ABC13 here in Houston and they are directly owned by ABC/Disney.

I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing.
You can guarantee that Kimmel will be crying and Newsom will be campaigning. All in the name of impartial comedy and entertainment of course.TXAG 05 said:

Though, given the plummeting ratings of the show and affiliates choosing not to run it, it's only getting shoved to their own true believers that tune in.TAMUallen said:Gigem314 said:You can guarantee that Kimmel will be crying and Newsom will be campaigning. No better way to fix an issue than to come right back while throwing double middle finger birds to the public. Know the left, they are your enemy. There's zero doubt about it and they are shoving it in your face
