It's ICE if their mission is ICE. The letters on the ID and the cheap nylon jackets is again noise.

What defines a LEO is not the badge nor the letters, it's what they have been dutifully charged to prosecute regarding the laws.

Nothing to see here. Just a mostly peaceful National Guard trash pickup event.

What?

ICE enforces immigration.

The Natty Guard is there to protect fed property. I guess read the Sec. of War memo. The scope is clear.

Edit, here, I'll quote it for you:
Quote:

On June 7, 2025, the President of the United States called forth at least 2,000 National Guard personnel into Federal service pursuant to section 12406 of title 10, U.S. Code, to protect U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other U.S. Government personnel who are performing Federal functions, including the enforcement of Federal law, and to protect Federal property, at locations where protests against these functions are occurring or are likely to occur based on current threat assessments and planned operations.

They aren't ad-hoc ICE, homie. I stand by my original comment. It's been chill. Seems wasteful.

So grateful to the brave men and women of ICE, DHS, the National Guard and any others fighting the terrorists of the Democrat party.

Apparently Portland PD is standing down and not assisting in all the antifa rioting at the Portland ICE facility.
That city is a goner. Implosion on every level coming within 10 years.

Fine, you believe it's wasteful. Most all people believe in law and order and the resources to make that happen and understand this is an effective and proper use of resources.

Wouldn't you want as many cameras there to record what was going on if you are in the right? Lol

They keep harassing non leftist/non antifa camera crews. And everyone not there for the protests really.

I work in a federal building in downtown Portland. Don't remember the last time I saw a protestor other than occasional news clips of the 20 or showing up to the ICE building at night. Which is not in the middle of downtown. There are no fires, no war zones. Just people enjoying the city. I'm down here 40+ hours/week and don't think twice about my safety.

Yes, there are homeless people. Yes, there's a block or two I wouldn't walk alone on in the middle of the night. Show me a major city that doesn't have that. But a war zone that requires the national guard?? That's laughable and frankly embarrassing to hear the complete lies being reiterated over and over by the President.

Stayed at the Benson Hotel in downtown Portland. Loved that hotel but downtown Portland is a ****hole. I saw on Google maps that there was a Chinatown nearby and asked the desk clerk for a restaurant recommendation and was told in no uncertain terms not to go there. He said the Chinese moved out during COVID and never came back. Said the beautiful Chinese garden is now a homeless camp, that the only thing there now are homeless, drug addicts, and criminals and told me, "Do not go there, it is not safe." Personally saw homeless, mentally ill, and drug addicts; people screaming for no reason other than having an episode and feces on the streets. Closed businesses everywhere and goods locked up in the ones that are open. Had to walk 20 minutes to a CVS by the university to purchase a pair of readers as I had forgot mine and downtown pharmacies quit carrying them due to high theft. The only police presence I saw was around the trolley stops. You can tell that it was once a nice city and people there will tell you that. They will also tell you that they hate what has happened to their city and wish it would return. I wish Trump had done this in 2020.

Well, if things are as nice and quaint as you say, then the guard won't have much to do and will move on to the next lib disaster zone. So don't let it bother you too much.

Keep in mind this is also about signaling to the locals that lawless playtime is over and they can either police themselves or be policed by Daddy.

In 2020? Yes. Not sure what that has to do with justifying the national guard today, though.

And to the post above, yes there are homeless. Yes Chinatown is a **** hole. Chinatown was a **** hole in 2005 when I moved here. But if our bar for deploying the national guard is homeless people and a bad part of town, then say that.

But that's not what's being said. What's being said is our city is a war zone with fires burning everywhere which is so absurd, im struggling to comprehend that.

Do you actually live in the city and interact with the filth or do you live outside of it and enjoy the beautiful landscape while avoiding the antifa breeding grounds?

Do you go around the poorer areas or spend much time there?

Many people may say "downtown Houston is not that bad, just watch yourself" and never venture to the east side Buffalo Bayou or ride their bikes through Sunnsyside on a Saturday afternoon.

Point is you may not live there or go there but there are still people there who deserve to be safe, to pursue life liberty and happiness without vomit, ****, needles, panhandlers, rapists and murderers having the run of things.

Go speak to the national guard and ask them what they are seeing.

I live 10 mins from downtown and work in the middle of downtown 5 days a week. I know people are going to believe what they want to believe. All I can say is I've been here 20 years. Raising my kids here. 2020-2021 was an absolute ****show. We are not that Portland anymore.

I lived in downtown Houston in the mid 2000's then have done construction in all the choicest hoods around Houston as part of what our company does.

Most people have zero concept of what goes on in the poorest of poor places in our Country.

Defenders of lib strongholds are either gaslighting or being gaslit when they say things are not that bad.

I don't know how many times it has to be said.

The federalization of OR Natty Guard is only to protect fed property, i.e., ICE detention center on the waterfront and admin office downtown. Both have seen bad protests in the past, but not recently.

They aren't cleaning up crime and homelessness. I'd be game for that, but that's not what's happening.

Ill admit im for the legality of all the drugs. Im not for the enabling and encouragement of abusing them. Oregon has created their own hell hole because they wanted to be so accepting and woke without consequences. You don't simply let people run wild and without fear of being disciplined because you have utopian views of how people will behave without rules

The way things are trending in this country, would it surprise anyone that there will be a shooting that is aimed at ICE officers focusing on Portland?

The answer is obviously No.

Depending on how long ICE does their thing in Portland, I would say that a targeted shooting is likely to happen.

Now, when it does, how will our leaders react?

I really do not understand why they allow these activists to be standing within a 3 block radius, much less blocking the entrance to the federal facilities. We need to put up barriers and when crossed they get arrested immediately. Federal crimes. Make these pucks feel the process. 2nd violation a mandatory 3 year stent.

I've wondered the same thing. Why are ICE agents being so reserved in the face of all of this obvious illegal obstruction? The cynic in me thinks this is a calculated posture to make the protestors look like the antagonists. It's politically helpful to the Trump administration to have leftist loons attacking cops/ICE. Once ICE starts cracking down a lot of people will see them and Trump as the aggressors and it will harm the administration politically. It's the only thing that makes sense to me.

I will say choosing ot continue to raise your kids in Portland after what happend in 2020 does not reflect well on your decision making ability, at all.
