Hawg, is there anyway you could get the Patriot Act in front of SCOTUS as unconstitutional? I just don't see how you could get a lawsuit there. Who would sue who for what?

Because, prior to the Patriot Act, the paper trail for everyone who would have to sign off on this stuff would make it much more difficult to pull off.

Spying on POTUS would be about as hard to hide as faking the moon landing.

I disagree that the "major problem" was a disregard for the laws.

The most "major problem" was a lack of appropriate checks and balances to make disregard for the law so easy.

The second worst "major problem" was the illegal use of the government.

You have to fix both problems, not just one or the other.

Don't recall the Kennedy Hawaii event. Article is confusing because it seems to leave out what happened with the Republican electors?

So, when the Dem and Rep electors met again the 3 Dem electors simply usurped the prior decision for Nixon and declared themselves the arbitrators for Hawaii's decision for POTUS and changed the decision to Kennedy?

You don't recall democrats openly talking about removing Ted Cruz from office? It's one of the reasons they claimed for refusing to let republicans choose their own reps for the J6 Committee. I'm not sure I would call in"conspiring to remove" him. They talked about doing it. I couldn't cite an article. I remember it from everything we covered here. It's probably in. j6 committee thread. Of course the J6 committee itself illegally destroyed evidence of their own sedition, so I'm not sure what is still out there.

They wanted Cruz and others removed from office for supporting the lawful process to challenge the election.

From what I have gathering from these latest reveals, it was a little more nuanced than that. Here's the strategy behind Arctic Frost. It was flawed from a legal aspect but given the sorry state of our federal judiciary, the district courts would and did go along with it.

The so-called "fake electors" from swing states that had questionable results in 2020 that were in place during what was anticipated to be session for formally counting the electoral college numbers on Jan 6th 2021. Cruz was one of several Republicans that were going to make the case to challenge those states' results.

So by Dems claiming incorrectly that those alternate slates of electors waiting in the wings should they be needed was somehow illegal, obstruction, sedition, fraud...whatever, any politician or even private lawyer who assisted them in anyway was a co-conspirator. Then charges could be and in some cases were brought against them.

Indicted politicians, especially Republican ones tend to lose reelection bids. So the design was both legal and political.

Was it legally flawed and dumb? Yes. But when the AG, Deputy AG and Director of the FBI sign off on going forward in that fishing expedition, Jack Smith was given carte blanche to spy on sitting Senators and Congressmen.
