I agree that Hunt would be good. But who does he take votes away from? If he takes them away from Cornyn then I think KP wins the race.
About 3 weeks ago I was at lunch with a bunch of Aggies older than I am. This race came up and myself and one other said we think KP wins, which no one at that table wants. One of the others said he had seen the internal polling from Cornyn's camp and that JC has a sizeable lead.

Cornyn is way over 90% aligned with Trump. He's just not a loud showman and that is supposedly bad. We're in crazy land.

Paxton is a sinner and realizes it. He also doesn't stand behind the pulpit and profess that sin is actually good and God supports it. Leading yourself down a sinful path is much better than taking others with you.

No, we're saying that conservatives don't have a majority. That means that we rely on some votes that we might label as "moderate" or even "RINO". What we are saying is that someone like Paxton may have alienated some of those we label "moderate" or "RINO" and might vote for someone else. Then we are dealing with someone else instead of Cornyn, who votes over 90% of the time with Trump. The Never-Cornyn idea is not as bad as the Never-Trump, but it's still lunacy. Cornyn is more than acceptable.
