In our house, it's ABC- anybody but Cornyn.
But we're voting for Hunt

Why do you say that? He votes 90% with Trump. Does the 10% make you willing to risk somebody who could lose to Allred? I haven't decided what I'm going to do, but if it looks like Paxton presents a risk of losing, he'll be dead to me.

This sounds very similar to "vote Desantis in the Republican primary because Trump can't beat Biden".

Talarico is going to defeat Allred whose only appeal is "aw shucks I used to play football and I smile on camera."

Cornyn is way over 90% aligned with Trump. He's just not a loud showman and that is supposedly bad. We're in crazy land.
If the primary voters select Paxton, they deserve to lose in the general. Period.

Talarico is Beto light. He has no problem skirting the truth and making barely true claims. I say barely true because he doesn't tell the rest of the story. He also has some bad skeletons. He should understand what a FOIA is.

As opposed to Talarico being a heretic and completely unaligned with the views of most Texans?

Talarico is going to be the candidate. Mark it!

What is Paxton then? God's anointed? Does Paxton's values square with the average Texan? Sadly, it appears the answer is yes.

You're saying that Texas is a purple state at best? That's a pretty low blow to the people of this state.

This guy has more skeletons in his closet than the Clintons. He makes Nancy Pelosi look like an ethical investor. His stance on MJ is straight out of the 90's. His personal life appears to be a disaster. He appears to be a hypocrite with his bible thumping.
The Dems will hammer him. All of the allegations against him don't even have to be true.
We will end up with a dem senator if this guy beats Cornyn, that would be a disaster on multiple levels.
Quote:
The poll was conducted by Texans for a Conservative Majority in the days immediately prior to Hunt announcing that he would turn the Senate between Cornyn and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton into a three-way contest.
It shows Cornyn with the support of 33 percent of Texas Republican primary voters, followed by Paxton at 28 percent and Hunt at 21 percent. Still undecided are 18 percent of primary voters.

Paxton is scum and should be in prison, not in office. That said, most voters are wholly uneducated and will vote for whoever wins the Republican Primary. No way he loses to a Democrat.

This is exactly the reason we need a conservative primary before the primary. Let conservatives pick between Paxton and Hunt (if he is conservative), and THEN that person would face RINO Cornyn alone in the actual primary. Of course this would need to happen before Dec 8th as that is the primary filing deadline.

You misspelled "illiberal populist". Paxton is no conservative.

No, we're saying that conservatives don't have a majority. That means that we rely on some votes that we might label as "moderate" or even "RINO". What we are saying is that someone like Paxton may have alienated some of those we label "moderate" or "RINO" and might vote for someone else. Then we are dealing with someone else instead of Cornyn, who votes over 90% of the time with Trump. The Never-Cornyn idea is not as bad as the Never-Trump, but it's still lunacy. Cornyn is more than acceptable.
