"It's cut up right now, I think 78% of the land is already taken by Russia," he said on Air Force One on Sunday. "They should stop right now at the battle lines ... Go home, stop killing people and be done."

And yet Trump just said a couple of weeks ago that he believed Ukraine COULD get all its land back. And Ukraine is more than happy to stop the conflict at current lines. It's one side that doesn't want that, and is pushing for full capitulation.

Opinions can change based on current facts and circumstances. Do you understand what "could" means?

What facts and circumstances changed in two weeks?

He didn't say that 2 weeks ago

What facts and circumstances changed in four weeks?

Ask Putin and Zelensky. I'm not a party to the negotiations

From Russia's perspective this isn't about Ukraine. Far too many in the west don't seem to understand that.

Lots of truth there. Russia is fighting for their reputation and future status. Putin will kill a few million of his own before he will openly admit weakness by signing a deal with Ukraine.

Defeating Putin will only come from inside pressure. It's just a matter of creating enough inside pressure.

No, Zelensky and Ukraine are NOT agreeable to the current lines and giving up territory. Hell they still want to get Crimea back out of all of this and that was lost in 2014 and nobody in the entire world cared then and hasn't since.

Zelensky wants everything back, including Crimea. Which he's never going to get. Russia is showing the world that power works.

Are you guys in any danger of losing your security clearances over your incredible takes here on the thread.

This is more worthless than Fox News debating Joy Reid. Ignorant and biased take after ignorant biased take and a whole lot of "nuh-uh's"!!!

So what do you want people to discuss on discussion boards then? Most football posters don't know **** about football on this website, but they are still allowed to post and discuss the state of the team among each other.

Again, this is incorrect. And if Russian power works why are they still stuck in a now almost 4 year quagmire gaining basically nothing in the past 3 years?

I won't speak for others but I appreciate your vote of confidence on services provided on this thread. I look forward to the continued dialogue.

And my security clearance is safe since I am not working in an official capacity. I'm just posting on Texags.

This is just such an old topic full of everybody's biases and nobody has anything good to offer and nobody goes and does any research. They just come back on here and ***** and moan and show their biases and provide nothing of any actual substance.

"Trump dumb" - no context
"Putin evil" - no context
"Russia this…Ukraine that" - no context or sources

The threads are entirely worthless and Texags should consolidate them or nuke them if there is not one bit of data, a link or meaningful discussion provided.

You really need context at this point to determine wether Putin is evil?

If you don't like them an easier solution is to just not open them.

It is a little odd trump talks tough on Putin. Putin meets with Trump, tells him how great his hair is. Trump immediately goes limp. Putin continues to show no desire to end the war. Trump talks tough again, the cycle continues. Yet somehow this is all the fault of the people defending their own country?

If anyone is allowing the war to extend, it's Trump by talking tough and then flaking to Putin over and over.

Ukraine has no reason to cave right now because Russia can't do anything more than what they've been doing. And they know if they accept a Putin favored deal it will only result in the loss of the rest of their country with the next invasion.

Russia won't cave because no one is willing to put any real pressure on them.

So everyone is right where they were when Trump took office.

One thing that's changed since Trump took office is America isn't dumping hundreds of billions of dollars into this debacle. Trump put America first like he said he would.

Well, discussion is not allowed on the strategic thread, so I was simply sharing the latest political development that was reported over the weekend.

Yes, because you are an intellectual compromised if you think it's that simple.

Or you have a pretty broad (therefore useless) definition of evil. Every single head of state of the United States, Britain has been "evil" under your definition. Churchill would be Hitler standards by your definition. Abraham Lincoln and Truman are two of the worst criminals of all time. Celebrated heroes like Alexander the Great, Caesar, the Crusaders, every single head of state in every empire. Most Popes…

That would mean that you are either evil yourself and you celebrate it in all of these situations or your definition of evil is a bit too broad.

I stopped having in-depth conversations about the Russia Ukraine war a couple years ago. No hope for the Fox News & CNN crowd.

You are correct though I should not have opened the thread. I guess I was feeling optimistic on a Monday.

Does anyone think that Putin will be content to settle on the current lines forever or just for now until he decides to renew the push for the rest of Ukraine, and eat it up one little bite at a time?

I wonder if Zelensky would be more amenable to that proposal if it came with real commitments that Russia could never invade or seek further changes in the border? For instance, if Ukraine accepts that, NATO will restore Ukraines nuclear arsenal….something to give them some teeth.

Russia has been pretty adamant that no real securities exist, and that Ukraine have regime change. Basically they want Ukraine to be another Belarus in any deal.

Well, that's literally untrue and not odd at all. Did you see the previous administration and the one before Trump the first time in how they deal with people?

I'm truly embarrassed for you for writing that. You really don't understand annything about what world leaders have to go through to deal with other world leaders.

Pointing a finger or blaming anyone does not matter in the least to the outcome. Its irrelevant...

Ukraine and Russia can end the war or not, I dont care, as long as we dont fund it.

He's the best president we've had since Ronald Reagan that's just a fact. I'm sorry it upsets you so much. I find it so amusing that a liberal on a politics board thinks they know more about dealing with world leaders. Somehow you have it all figured out.

Trump has had the best approach of anyone in the last 17 years, including his first term. He has made more progress than Biden and Obama. And he actually gives a ***** He is truly trying to solve this matter unlike the last administration who just said "don't"

He'll, Putin himself said this wouldn't have happened if Trump had been president. Which shows you how little our world leaders thought of the Biden administration. But of course you guys push the bull**** that Trump loves Putin and is his friend. Delusional. Honestly, if Trump could, I think he'd get rid of him.

We see world leader, after world leader capitulating to Donald Trump's demands. Do you ever just listen to what many of these world leaders are saying about him? How many are praising him for his efforts and his ability to do things? Everyone said the world would collapse for his tariff issues but yet most of them have done what he wanted. Does that just go in one ear and out the other?

Trump always has a method. He goes in first he makes his demands. He sits back and he sees what they're going to do and what they're not going to do. He goes in again. He makes further demands then he sits back and sees what they're going to do then if things don't go the way he wants he comes down hard when he can. But you can never predict what another world leader will do.

Do you see how he's dealing with Columbia and Venezuela and the Middle East. The man has gotten more done in 10 months than we have in decades. He learned from his first administration and he's just not having it anymore. Will he be able to solve everything? Of course, not no American president can solve the world's problems.

We've got some really ****ed up people out there, communists, socialist, dictators, and you just sit here on a message board claiming you know better. That is ****ing arrogant.

Trump literally barely sleeps. He is constantly trying to bring peace. He is constantly trying to make things better for our country and people like you just **** all over him all the time.

Half the reason we are in so many of these issues right now are because of the democrats and their weak international policies.

I honestly think Putin is an ass. I think Zelenskyy is a grifter. When you have two people like that involved in this kind of situation it's like dealing with two bratty kids on the playground. Trump is trying. Trump is having a three steps forward two steps back situation sometimes but that's the world for you.

So why don't you spend more time commenting on politics rather than being upset because I like our president.
