9/11/01 - "Oh my goodness!"

9/12/01 - "Never forget."

9/11/06 - "Never forget."

9/11/11 - "Never forget."

9/11/16 - "Never forget"

2019 - "Some people did something...."

11/4/25 - "We did not remember."

11/5/25 - start downtown mosque planning

9/11/26 (25th anniversary) will be interesting (horrifying?) to see what takes place.

He will allow a mosque to come up there and call it "Friendship Mosque" or something and everyone will clap.

This country is doomed.

A mosque next to Ground Zero was even discussed during the 43 admin. (Not by it, but before Obama nearly sure.) The wrong response began early.

The only hope is that he screws up so badly the rest of the country sees this and learns what they already should have known.

Socialism/Communism does not work.

My prediction:

He can only do about half of what he wants to do on his own. He requires the state for other stuff. Hochul already said she's not going to play ball on some of his policies.

So, he will get part of his agenda done thereby only partially failing and the populace will naturally respond with: "He wasn't able to fully implement his vision because OG Democrats are blocking him! Unshackle him and his far left wing utopia will be realized! These half measures don't work unless you can go all-in on communism."

Book it.

This.

The country doesn't need extremes of either side running things, but if they are, let it be local and let it either fail or be tempered by the reality of what the position can and can't do when real life sets in after getting in office.

This is why we need small Federal government (what our FF envisioned to begin with). Let the states be the test labs for ideas. When they succeed/fail, the others can learn from it.

On a federal level, all we need is defense, immigration, commerce and enforcement of the Bill of Rights.

THIS.

More than anything, you need to break the excessive power of D.C. and especially the precedents of non-elected bureaucrats interfering in lower tier matters and state specific situations. Could be fine with NYC trying this if we didn't have the implication the DNC-MSM clique will try to impose it on the rest of the nation as they do with anything that crops up there or in California.

Exhibit A:

The federal Dept of Education. Let the states educate their kids how they want. Texas with home schools and private/religious schools, etc. California with commie schools. See how that turns out.

It wasn't in the Constitution, get rid of it. S.Ct. should strike down all federal laws on education as unconstitutional.

They'll (DNC) will try, but the real world (i.e. the non deep blue states) doesn't take to things like that. I liken it to Austin being the capital of Texas and blue AF, yet the entirety of the state doesn't care, we stay right of center no matter how liberal they are.

Socialism/Communism does not work.

Every system has its pros and cons. Flaws and good points. Capitalism isn't a silver bullet that people here think it is. Yes, it has benefits but it also has the downsides of unrestricted greed that can destroy. Democracy's downsides are that you have people who can exploit this and become leaders and change the system from within legally. Muslims usually do that in non-Muslim countries like UK. There are some good aspects to socialism too, but I don't believe a completely socialist country will work out. A completely capitalistic society also won't work out.

Good post. Especially one where the ruling class is allowed to have no accountability. Even monarchies it was understood the right to forcibly remove (without it implying abolishing the system as it does in democracies) existed if power was abused too much and the people capable of effecting it.

The issue isn't where all the money, financial institutions, businesses and industries flee to. The question is how long it will take for all the worthless, freeloading, leftest that will eventually follow the money to invade, ruin and destroy what ever new home the money goes to?

Took about 15 years in San Fran.

I predict it will take less for NYC.

Not yet mentioned, did the Sliwa campain pressing on having something to do with Mamdani's win or was it a blow-out anyway?

I think it would have been a blow out anyway. Cuomo is just too damaged as an opponent plus he was running as an Independent. NYC Dems won't vote for indies.

"America's Premiere Showcase City" whose daily routine involves looking down at all of us living in flyover country and the best candidate the trad Dems can produce is the disgraced groper ex Governor nepo baby.

How can Schumer see this and not realize he is now on the hot seat?

Exactly. There are no second acts for someone who was run out of office as governor and for good reason.
