The problem is, if he wins he will eventually use that to bolster his image and run for national office. It's going to be enough of a challenge to keep Newsom from winning the White House in 2028.

How are you going to do this when Democrats and Commies mostly congregate in the big cities? You are never going to change the tune of most of these people. Even putting aside his ideology, I can't believe NYC is going to elect a coddled kid with zero job experience to run a city of 8.5 million with a $115B billion dollar budget.
