Although it will natural for the political right to use this as an opportunity to dance on the grave of the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, THIS GUY was apparently not some undocumented Afghan refugee who managed to sneak on a plane to the US.

Reports are that he worked with a CIA counter terrorism group that directly received U.S. military intelligence and assets to hunt down Taliban and Al Queda. This guy was VERY VETTED by the US in terms of knowing his background.

The most important thing here is hopefully through all the political mudslinging that will occur as both political sides try to take advantage of this situation is:

1) Thoughts for the families of the National Guardsman. Awful.

2) Why did THIS GUY do this and why now? After 4 years in the states, apparently driving cross country and leaving a wife and family behind. What had he been doing for work the past 4 years? Has he still been actively working with the U. S. Government in some capacity? What had been the most recent contacts between him and a CIA handler? Etc.

This is also likely to be a fruitful conspiracy theory situation so beware of that. A lot of $$$$ to be made getting clicks and views by the conspiracy theory pundits who profit from stuff like this.

Your questions need to be answered. Your rep, Cornyn. Cruz - need to ask, ask ask. But it won't happen.
From one outraged to another we go, Epstein two weeks ago, senators asking for military mutiny last week, this this week. Our government answers to nobody.

One, that can't be too quickly dismissed IF, IF it is true, needs to be settled quickly. Is it true that searches for his unusual name were going on in a flurry in D.C. just before the crime? Or is that just one of those hit-and-run internet rumor postings? That really only makes much sense IF TRUE (keep that in mind don't step past it) if was a figure known to `have set out' to do something by certain people.

That's one making the rounds already and this could be a case of able to nip one in the bud if it has been debunked.

The searches could have been the guy himself checking out his own online presence, trying to gauge what would be revealed or said about him. He probably assumed he wouldn't survive the attack and that anything about him already online could be the only real bio info to be seen afterward.

That's an excellent speculation that would account for it even if it turns out to be true, and not make it necessary to dismiss. Its something an investigation could then discover.

My issue is that I no longer care if he was actually one of the few that got vetted and happens to be an outlier. They all need to be removed and sent back. It's not worth the risk.

All I saw was a screenshot going around twitter showing the search, did anyone actually verify that it was true? Very easy for someone to photoshop that and send it out. And since people get paid for exposure (one of the only bad decisions Elon has made), plenty of reason ($$) for someone to make it up knowing that they won't get fact checked because certain groups always want there to be a conspiracy.

Tired of this absurd "begging the question" premise of "we don't have the labor and skills we need"!

Good point. What is even harder to believe is that even if there was a momentary bumpy period, that any of this is so indispensable the nation would fall apart at once too fast to correct if we just got rid of the education system as know it and return to useful instruction and knowledge passing on. We probably have all the ingenuity we need here among our citizens if you can just get the DC/MSM marinated transnational block out of the way and stop running down Western Civ in the name of multiculturalism.

The lefts goal is NOT to help our country.
The lefts goal is to destroy western culture and capitalism.

Shared western beliefs, capitalism, and rule-of-law built the most technically advanced civilization the world has ever seen. The idea of "all American's are equal, with equal opportunity to pursue their dreams" is what made America great. These ideals are why people from all over the world should want to be here. And we have welcomed legal immigrants for decades.

This democrat message of "come to America so you can get free stuff" must end!

Sadly, the left is calling on their history of racism, and arguing that we need more "slaves" on the plantation or the cotton will never get picked.

It has been mentioned many times here that Islam tells it subjects to blend in until an opportunity exists to kill the infidel.
Sorry libs, but until that is proven wrong, I am skeptical of these foreigners.
Lol- libs going nuts about Christians handing them a Bible or asking if they know Jesus. Wonder what their thoughts will be when a gun is at their head for being infidel?

You are 100% correct'
Lying to infidels is at the heart of islam. Telling people you are there to take over their country and kill the men and rape the women and molest the native girls makes it more difficult to achieve your goals.

Taqiyya ("al Taqiyya") is the Muslims' license to lie to infidels in order to camouflage Islam's holy war strategy (jihad) to conquer the world.

" The technical meaning of the term taqiyya is thought[by whom?] to be derived from the Quranic reference to religious dissimulation in Sura 3:28:
Believers should not take disbelievers as guardians instead of the believersand whoever does so will have nothing to hope for from Allahunless it is a precaution against their tyranny. And Allah warns you about Himself. And to Allah is the final return. (ill an tattaq minhum tuqt).

This is not a trap question. If you say taqqiya is not an overall standard, can you name which schools of Islam reject it or even just criticize it will suffice. Nor is this a "put on spot" question because its not unreasonable if you don't know. Just asking. Because if there is a school of thought or group that rejects it want to know more.

Not least because the idea of formally sanctioned lying sounds almost like how the DNC has gotten, and we seen how destructive it is to be completely okay with lying as a principle. Especially in religious witness, this seems very bad.

I particularly like how they hide or destroy older early copies they find that significantly deviate from the version that has existed since the printing press.

I think that this could be a suicide by cop attempt with the Islamic flavor of having attacked an "enemy of Islam" and this a martyr's reward versus the religious condemnation that a simple suicide would bring. Seems plausible.

Still there are caveats of a sort of among Islamic mullahs. For one, it is not considered a true Quran unless written in Arabic. That is why so many claim it can't be translated exactly, because if you think about it, a translation to another language will never be dead-on exact.

Secondly, what can be a mistaken is the interpretation, the hadith and tradition speaking of it. Even Al-Wahabbi felt that some surah were clearly era specific, and others not.

It is in these `cracks' that the variety among Muslims comes to be.

In Western terms of course, the preservation issue runs into problems against the known intervention of the Caliphs in seeking to standardize and destroy other copies.

It's not an important enough distinction to make here as these guys we let in do indeed follow the most violent sects of Islam.

I am for 100% deportment of these jabronees.

I agree with above comments that you simply do not see the religious leadership condemn violence. What is interesting and I am sure you would agree, there is another group that is now reluctant to condemn violence by their "side" - this is particularly evident here as well as they try to draw lines and revise history to suit their agenda.

We can debate nuances of how Islam developed as a religion and one with several particularly violent sects and why that is so… on another thread in Religion.

For here, no reason to make such distinction. I agree with you and others regarding how it applies here and the need to "purge".

They absolutely are at fault, and probably Left Academics even more so. Because what radicalizes Muslims is getting immersed in the earliest form of it. You see, many don't learn "all about it" or even expound on the Quran even when they have it memorized. Its not unlike how many Christians can throw out a passage here or there at will and know it be heart. But what happens in radicalization is they get re-immersed into its most early raw form (this from Muslim writers who can demonstrate the process).

So types like CNN and the DNC and especially Academia that keep trying to run down Western Civ, mischaracterize the Crusades (Obama comes to mind) and who keep defending importing the most regressive and least wanted kind -- -they create conditons of radicalization. France if anything is worse--we see that that Macron was prepared to have Gazans all go there. The sophisticated Muslims of Turkey, Indonesia, Egypt, Jordan will tell you that the Palestinian variety is not what you want around. So part of this issue is our persisting government stupidity in not making these distinctions.
