If someone an AMERICAN is arrested by ICE for breaking the law, then they get to fight that in court after they are charged with said crime. If they think it was false then they can argue that against the evidence.

So a guy who was a lawful permanent resident for 43 years but never decided to assert any claim to citizenship until he was arrested and prepared for deportation due to his prior convictions for illegal weapons possession and assaulting his girlfriend?
