Only way to outright win is to invade. Trump wont do it. So cut the best declare vuctory and move on. Iran has been set back some. We can do it again next year.....lol

This is false, we do not need boots on the ground for them to fall

Bomb their infrastructure, let Israel take out the leaders, keep the blockade. Moral will be very low even for the hardliner IRGC soldiers, no money and being hunted. A lot of them will disband. Factions of the Artesh military will break off and join the people. Arm the people

Do that and you wont need boots on the ground. Might have to do some special ops stuff but that is it

Mow the grass with regards to Uranium

Why would they need war reparations? They have been telling us all along that they are winning the war.

The only people that need war reparations are the losers...

I hope and pray this is right, because the delay tactics by Iran are frustrating. Just bomb all the radicals into oblivion until the only ones left to negotiate are the politicians who are reasonable and don't want nukes. They could go back to having a free and prosperous country if they will do that.

You can't just bomb people and hope their replacements are any better. In most cases the lower levels of organizations ARE EVEN MORE RADICAL, because they have no experience in dealing with the realities of governing/leadership and the moderation that requires.

Not to mention most of the people you want to bomb are spread out now all across the huge country, and hiding among civilians.

2 Bombs worked on Japan and changed their minds too to the point that we are pretty good partners with them.

Been away from ol bugeye for a couple of hours, but I had heard at least one pundit hinting at further progress would be pending Trump-Xi meetings in a week or so.

Lots of things in motion it seems with Iran, China and Russia all having to re-sort their alliances with one another and the rest of the world.

Part of that is the push by Waltz at the UN today to "condemn" the Iranian approach to the SoH.

Hopefully this signals a course correction by Trump. These past couple of days have been a clown show.

Correct course of action to take is do project freedom, enforce the blockade, and wait for Iran to submit to everything or for a civil war to break out. Trump really fumbled by not doing at least a tit-for-tat retaliation after Iran attacked the UAE.

They've been telling their people internally that they will get reparations. This is partly to stave off internal revolts/dissent from the economic issues that are snowballing there.

My first thought is this is a move that channels to Iran we're about to enhance the pace of operations and they don't have any friends close by.

I have been biting my tongue on this, but it wouldn't remotely surprise me if they started dumping it into the ocean. They don't give a damn about human life so why would they care about ocean life?

Not sure what we could/would do at that point.

As opposed to shutting in their wells? That is their likely calculus here. Some environmental damage versus the long term/permanent damage to their wells, environment would lose everytime.

The 'fine detail' being determining how big is the "Some" in that sentence when talking about how much of that 3 million bpd gets dumped. If only 2% we are talking over 60,000 bpd or 2.5 million gallons a day.

Then do we go kinetic on their infrastructure to stop it switching from dumping in the ocean to it burning into the atmosphere? I don't know how, or if it is even possible, but they all need to be removed from this planet.

The single biggest error being made here is thinking the Iranians are bargaining in good faith.

The longer they string us along , the longer we look like fools.

The only thing I would note is that Saddam set Kuwait's wells on fire as he left. Smoke was awful but temporary.

So burning may have less environmental damage? Maybe?

Never suggested nuking Iran as an option. The point was that sometimes bombs CAN be effective in winning wars and changing minds in some circumstances which was counter to the point I was responding to.

Actually, probably right, both are bad but I could see where oil in the ocean ending up on reefs / seafloor would have a longer negative impact.

I don't have a secret back door into Trump's brain, but I think all of this is intentional. He wants to make sure everyone believes that Iran is being difficult and reluctant to get a deal done. What follows isn't particularly clear, but IF bombing starts again, the very first thing Trump will be saying is, "We tried to make a deal, but Iran's leadership was not serious." and it would be easy for people to believe.

Due to the radical factions, Iran will never keep a deal that is satisfactory. Finish them now while we are already in theater. Otherwise we will be going back before the end of Trump's term, and the economic pain of high oil prices will linger. Iran is doing what they always do, stall.
You are the world, we are the USA, don't mess with us and we won't blow your $hit away.

Still breaking but would be pretty big to have actors outside of US/Israel actively attacking Iran in response to Iran's strikes

the ironic thing is that for MONTHS now

the Islamic Republic claims their factories and installations blow up due to "gas leaks" instead of being bombed by the West.

"It's okay citizens!

we are just so incompetent and corrupt that our factories blow up due to negligence and not because of our weak enemies!!"
