Well, there's a turn I didn't see coming. Too long, didn't click; supposedly the Cuban regime sent 5,000 fighters/soldiers or some such.

The way things are going for Russia, that's a good way for Cuba to get a few thousand men off their payroll

What even barely marginal help could the Cuban provide the Russians other than a few pieces of meat for Ukrainian drones to feast on. They are in no shape to even make things work in their own country. The kind of folks that would go over are likely the ones we don't want to survive a regime change anyway.

Cuban-American Congressman Carlos Gimnez has once again issued one of the strongest warnings against the Cuban regime amid increasing pressure from Washington: its leaders could end up behind bars in the United States, just like Nicols Maduro.
During an interview with Fox News, Gimnez stated that "the leaders of the Cuban regime" could end up meeting the former Venezuelan president "in a New York prison, if they are lucky," referring directly to Maduro's capture on January 3 following an operation authorized by President Donald Trump.
The legislator from Florida made it clear that, although international attention in the United States has recently focused on conflicts in the Middle East, Cuba remains a consistent priority on the White House agenda.
"President Trump is talking more and more about Cuba. We're even involved in a conflict in Iran, but he always, almost always mentions Cuba," he noted.

Longer term blackouts, food spoilage, and more problems in Cuba. Losing that Venezuela oil is really hurting them. No fuel for the garbage trucks. Garbage piling up. Hospitals running on generators, if they can find fuel.

Efforts by Democrats escalated after USA TODAY reported that senior State Department officials delivered an ultimatum to Cuba's communist government during a secret meeting. U.S. diplomats told their Cuban counterparts that they had a small window to meet U.S. demands before circumstances irreversibly worsened.
Earlier in the week, USA TODAY exclusively reported that the Pentagon was asked to draw up contingency plans in case Trump decides to launch a military operation.
Democrats realistically have few tools at their disposal to constrain Trump, with Republicans in control of both chambers of the legislative branch. They've appealed to Trump in official letters and hammered the State Department for answers. After getting nowhere with their own government, Jayapal and Jackson made a rare trip to Havana in early April to speak directly with the Cuban president.
Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine is aiming to force a vote on a war powers resolution next week, with Trump using heated rhetoric like, "Cuba is next."

Trump tells Cuba they are indeed next. Will stop by on way home from Iran and use the USS Abraham Lincoln to forced Cuba to surrender.
I like it!
When do we start the *****Cuba Military Action***** thread?

How do we take Cuba? I don't think we can do it militarily when they've done nothing to provoke us to
I mean it'd probably take us a week at most if done with military.

Been watching some videos from a guy who was in Cuba a few weeks ago. There is absolutely nothing there we would want in its current state. That place is sad; buildings crumbling, people destitute and without hope, infrastructure non-existent. Non sure how you change the economic dynamic with all the communists (LOL) still in control. Just need to keep the bad guys out of there and not meddling in affairs 90 miles away from our shores.

LOL. Cuba could be a world class island destination within less than a decade if the Communist regime were out of the way. There are a crap ton of successful former Cubans 90 miles away in Miami just itching to go back and rebuild their country. Further, the population there would be more than willing to give their all to help them do it.

I actually do believe that. It could be a wonderful place.
