Wow. Al Green pulled ahead in CD 18, but still a runoff at least. I'm surprised by his election day performance. I guess that publicity stunt he pulled at the SOTU had its desired effect.

I'm sure someone has already gone through his sermons. There will be hours upon hours of material like this to use. In addition to his the border needs a welcome mat comment. All 80/20 issues.

And he's lazy too - missed over 800 votes and lied about it. Some preacher. Probably would lie to parents faces about their child

One more - he spouted off the we're tired of prayers talking point after a terrorist attack. He's out of his league with this comment and he tucked tail and ran.

Not surprised he won, but Talerico is the fakiest fakerson I've ever seen. He just says Christian-sounding things, and the NPCs lap it up.

He's the political version of Joel Osteen...though I guess Osteen fills an arena with uninformed people as well.

As much as libs hate Christianity you'd think that would be a turn off but I guess not.

He's going to get the lib vote...I think his whole goal is to pull from the middle...and he's playing a 'wholesome' awe shucks character to do so.

He's the religious-y 'Mayor Pete' of Texas this cycle. Talking points will be out today about how reasonable, moral and upstanding he is and any Christian who doesn't vote for him has gone astray from their beliefs. I'm already seeing it.

I think if this were a Presidential election year with Trump on the ballot, he might have more traction. But I do not think he's going to motivate the Democrat base. The suburban self proclaimed 'moderates' who love him the most probably voted Allred against Cruz in 2024 anyway. I do not think he's going to pull a bunch of new voters his way.

Crockett was crazy, and likely to lose, but I also think her shtick would have fed their voting base the red meat to get them out to vote in a mid-term year and raise more money for the party and other races. Also see Al Green somehow managing to get back in his race following his stunt at the SOTU.

Beto and Allred also tried pulling from the middle, and failed. Only I think Talerico will be even less of a motivator for the lib vote and youth vote, and won't have the young brand and money on the level of Beto.

Obviously the race has to be taken seriously, I don't think Cornyn or Paxton cruise to victory with no effort. But I think Talerico is still more hype and wishful thinking from reluctant Dem voters in Texas at this point. I think Cornyn/Paxton would have to run some epically horrible campaigns in order to lose the seat.

It is my policy NEVER to vote for a Muslim candidate.

They all want to turn America Islamic and start making comments about Israel, Kashmir, Palestine and other Islamic jihad causes.

Let me help you a bit, so you don't worry. Islamists are flooding into Texas chasing voucher dollars for Islamic schools. They will block vote for the most liberal Democrats they can find, since the Democrats think Islam is perfect for destabilizing our culture. The Islamists will eventually get enough headway to vote in their Islamic candidates, kicking the infidel Democrats to the curb. The Democrats will be shocked as they lose ground.

So, don't worry! Not much we can do about it now.

Yes this is the modus operandi. The main obstacle is white man's burden and white man's guilt. And the fear of being called a racist. I have noticed Indian H1Bs using the same trick, they get booted out of their jobs and they call Trump a racist for his 100k fee.

But I am dismayed that you have decided to accept defeat.

Fight for your homeland.

So, I am admittedly ignorant on this race. I know Crenshaw was once a darling and then the whole SNL thing happened. But, admittedly I have not followed him for several years since I do not live anywhere close to his district.

what caused him to fall out of favor?

He rivals Pelosi as one of the greatest stock traders of all time.

It's incredible how Jasmine Crockett is accusing Republicans of rigging the Texas US Senate Democrat Primary. It makes no sense because some Republicans voted for Crockett in the Democrat primary knowing that she would have had a slim chance of winning the general election. It appears there will be a runoff between John Cornyn and Ken Paxton. I voted for Hunt in the primary, but I will be voting for Cornyn in the runoff because I think Cornyn has a better chance of than Paxton of beating James Talarico in the general election. A general election matchup between Paxton and Talarico would likely be a tossup, and I don't want the risk of a Talarico becoming the first Democrat to win a Texas US Senate election since Lloyd Bentsen in 1988.

Im not sure Talarico is going to motivate Dem voters enough to turn out and make it a toss up, but with Paxton there's certainly more possibility of his baggage being a liability.

I think Cornyn wins the runoff and the general. It's difficult to unseat a long-time Senator in a state where his party dominates.

I hope you're right, but I think Paxton's legal and pollical baggage would increase the chance of a Democrat winning a Senate race in Texas. I agree that Cornyn will beat Paxton in the runoff and Talarico in the general election.

Well Teixeira wins the 21st Congressional District (Texas). All I know about the guy who is going to be my next Representative in Congress is that he is "endorsed by Trump, a Christian, a conservative, and a family man". He's a MLB hero, I hear. What I know factually is that he is an out-of-stater. He isn't even a resident of the 21st - but has said he is building a home in Dripping Springs. So, he couldn't vote for himself. His wife could not vote for him.

What a system we have. He backs the President. I'm more interested in how he'll represent me and the residents in the all counties surrounding Kerr County - that are not part of the population dense areas near Austin and the north side of San Antonio.

He may be great. All I know is that he is wealthy, was great in MLB, has lived in the big city all the time, and is... a carpetbagger.

if cornyn wants to win all he has to do is demand the senate pass the save act today. He could actually use his decades in office to apply public pressure to accomplish republican governance. He wont though, because he doesnt want it to pass. What's the point of republicans who dont want to pass republican policy?

Trump tweets a video of Obama's as monkeys, and the white ladies who vote for Obama's party are racist because they chose the electable Christian guy. Lol I'm sure that makes sense to someone on here.

Actually, it was three seconds of a monkey video from another video that showed all politicians as animals that was tacked onto a 59-second video of the Dominion voting scandal that was retweeted because of the 2020 election. It was not vetted properly because it made no sense that that would've been tacked on there.

It originally came from a different account, not the White House. Let's just get that straight. I know many of you want to push the Trump is racist bull**** from every point all the time, but it would be nice if you could just tell the truth. The truth is the easiest thing to say.

But then you knew that you just want to keep pushing the lie that he just randomly sent out a racist video.

Talarico hasn't really been vetted yet. Press just slobbered all over him doing puff pieces, except for the NY Post which did an article about his social media habits which involve prostitutes and Only Fans. Now he is single, as I understand it so his personal life is his but has anyone else even asked him about this?

Not that I particularly care but claiming he is a devout Christian kind of raises questions. Questions he has not been grilled about yet.

I think Tallarico and Crockett are both horrible human beings. I haven't been paying much attention, but I assume that Crockett is already pushing the race angle?

And honestly, this guy almost makes Beto look smart. Why are there so many moronic Democrats in Texas. It's just mind-boggling.

And I can't believe Al Green is going to make a runoff. Ew. Thought they finally got rid of him. I'm not sure. The other woman is much better but he is just a disgusting human being in many ways.

I don't think that's the brag he thinks it is. Now I get that some Republicans would vote in the D primary to get rid of people, but not enough to really make a big swing or anything the Republicans should be worried about.

I really was not following that race either but watched Halperin's show this morning (first time in a long time) and he was citing that NY Post article and stating firmly that he believed Talarico is about to receive a ton of oppo research against him now that they can focus solely on him and not have Crockett as the heat sink.

Deep divisions in both parties - the dems voted based on racial lines. Talerico got the white liberal vote and Crockett got the black vote. It looks like it was a 60/40 split for Hispanics. Crockett did better there than I thought she would.

Republicans are battling between rinos and conservatives for the senate seat.

As a Deist, but former Catholic (I know, typical Mexican), how does one vet someone about their faith?

Also, seeing as how Trump has said he knows he's not going to heaven and he still has supporters, does it really matter anymore when it comes to pulling the lever for someone?

Yeah, they're actually both horrible candidates. Horrible people, but I guess they had to pick one of them. I'm astounded at how stupid and racist that woman is and yet she just gets such a large part of the vote. That tells you a lot about the Democrat party. It's gross.

Of course we saw Sheila Jackson Lee win for years. We've seen Maxine Waters been in for decades and yes, I know she's not from Texas, but it's the same type of thing. Scary.

i get what youre saying, but when someone is saying "God loves abortion- it says so in the Bible", that's about the easiest thing to shut down and the most repugnant thing you could say to Christians. He's so far off the rails with his appeals to religion it makes him a nut.

The most militant athiest and the most hardcore muslim know that no flavor of Christianity is pro-abortion. That's a nut job whackadoo leftist cult opinion.
