Wow. Al Green pulled ahead in CD 18, but still a runoff at least. I'm surprised by his election day performance. I guess that publicity stunt he pulled at the SOTU had its desired effect.

Not surprised he won, but Talerico is the fakiest fakerson I've ever seen. He just says Christian-sounding things, and the NPCs lap it up.
He's the political version of Joel Osteen...though I guess Osteen fills an arena with uninformed people as well.
As much as libs hate Christianity you'd think that would be a turn off but I guess not.

He's going to get the lib vote...I think his whole goal is to pull from the middle...and he's playing a 'wholesome' awe shucks character to do so.

Let me help you a bit, so you don't worry. Islamists are flooding into Texas chasing voucher dollars for Islamic schools. They will block vote for the most liberal Democrats they can find, since the Democrats think Islam is perfect for destabilizing our culture. The Islamists will eventually get enough headway to vote in their Islamic candidates, kicking the infidel Democrats to the curb. The Democrats will be shocked as they lose ground.
So, don't worry! Not much we can do about it now.

And he's lazy too - missed over 800 votes and lied about it. Some preacher. Probably would lie to parents faces about their child
One more - he spouted off the we're tired of prayers talking point after a terrorist attack. He's out of his league with this comment and he tucked tail and ran.
He rivals Pelosi as one of the greatest stock traders of all time.Legend said:So, I am admittedly ignorant on this race. I know Crenshaw was once a darling and then the whole SNL thing happened. It's incredible how Jasmine Crockett is accusing Republicans of rigging the Texas US Senate Democrat Primary. It makes no sense because some Republicans voted for Crockett in the Democrat primary knowing that she would have had a slim chance of winning the general election. It appears there will be a runoff between John Cornyn and Ken Paxton. I voted for Hunt in the primary, but I will be voting for Cornyn in the runoff because I think Cornyn has a better chance of than Paxton of beating James Talarico in the general election. A general election matchup between Paxton and Talarico would likely be a tossup, and I don't want the risk of a Talarico becoming the first Democrat to win a Texas US Senate election since Lloyd Bentsen in 1988.
Im not sure Talarico is going to motivate Dem voters enough to turn out and make it a toss up, but with Paxton there's certainly more possibility of his baggage being a liability.
I think Cornyn wins the runoff and the general. It's difficult to unseat a long-time Senator in a state where his party dominates.

Well Teixeira wins the 21st Congressional District (Texas). All I know about the guy who is going to be my next Representative in Congress is that he is "endorsed by Trump, a Christian, a conservative, and a family man". He's a MLB hero, I hear. What I know factually is that he is an out-of-stater. He isn't even a resident of the 21st - but has said he is building a home in Dripping Springs. So, he couldn't vote for himself. His wife could not vote for him.
What a system we have. He backs the President. I'm more interested in how he'll represent me and the residents in the all counties surrounding Kerr County - that are not part of the population dense areas near Austin and the north side of San Antonio.
He may be great. All I know is that he is wealthy, was great in MLB, has lived in the big city all the time, and is... a carpetbagger.

I hope you're right, but I think Paxton's legal and pollical baggage would increase the chance of a Democrat winning a Senate race in Texas. I agree that Cornyn will beat Paxton in the runoff and Talarico in the general election.

At least the GOP will never lose the congressional baseball game again. That's the most important thing.

if cornyn wants to win all he has to do is demand the senate pass the save act today. He could actually use his decades in office to apply public pressure to accomplish republican governance. He wont though, because he doesnt want it to pass. What's the point of republicans who dont want to pass republican policy?

I think Tallarico and Crockett are both horrible human beings. I haven't been paying much attention, but I assume that Crockett is already pushing the race angle?
And honestly, this guy almost makes Beto look smart. Why are there so many moronic Democrats in Texas. It's just mind-boggling.
And I can't believe Al Green is going to make a runoff. Ew. Thought they finally got rid of him. I'm not sure. The other woman is much better but he is just a disgusting human being in many ways.

Talarico hasn't really been vetted yet. Press just slobbered all over him doing puff pieces, except for the NY Post which did an article about his social media habits which involve prostitutes and Only Fans. Now he is single, as I understand it so his personal life is his but has anyone else even asked him about this?
Not that I particularly care but claiming he is a devout Christian kind of raises questions. Questions he has not been grilled about yet.

As a Deist, but former Catholic (I know, typical Mexican), how does one vet someone about their faith?
Also, seeing as how Trump has said he knows he's not going to heaven and he still has supporters, does it really matter anymore when it comes to pulling the lever for someone?
