The only thing I know about him is he was one of the few european leaders that was keeping his country from being invaded by third world invaders.
One problem the West is currently facing is that there just aren't many genuinely "good" men who have both the desire to enter politics AND have the stomach to enact the changes needed to preserve the civilization. Most of the people willing to do what is necessary are not particularly pleasant or noble and view the democratic process as a hindrance to the needed changes. They also tend to not be as qualified to actually govern so things like economic and foreign policy are often neglected and mismanaged.
To use our country as an example, daddy Bush had by far the best combination of personal virtue and governing talent/knowledge of any President in the living memory of anyone on this board. Had we followed him down the path he wanted to go down we would be so much better off today in almost every way as a nation. And now look how he is viewed in hindsight by most. Look what it got him.
