They may offer her a very nice package to leave but do so with the complete assurance that her role is not in jeopardy and leaving the bank would be completely voluntary.
Most likely scenario is she is kept in a lower executive cushy role with little to no public or client direct interaction. As many of already stated, this will blow over.
As an aside, this thread was both entertaining and kind of depressing. In my entire career I have had one female boss and she was a frumpy, unkept, loud-mouthed, alcoholic, lesbian. No justice!
