Bass advances and Pratt still hanging on around 30% with about half the voted counted

Two things are huge if Pratt moves forward… campaign dollars roll in bigly and a get out the vote mass effort could very easily result in Spencer as mayor. I give him 50-50 odds to n the runoff.

And I think the other somewhat surprising result is Hilton currently leading (slimly), Steyer seems to be very underperforming. Whether Hilton can win is one thing but the Dems are going to have to spend a ton of money to battle in the runoff against Hilton.

Good results tonight in those two races from my perspective.

Laughs in LA ballot manufacturing after Election Day for weeks.

Rooting for Pratt but there's nothing legit about voting in Los Angeles County.

Pratt got roughly 1/3 of the vote while the two prominent Democrats/leftists/ progressives split about 60% of the vote. I expect that to congeal in the runoff, and Pratt will not win. That is too bad. LA needs a good house cleaning

Imagine being so ideological that, even though one side has completely turned your city into a complete ****hole, you still vote for them because the D next to their name.

You're not wrong. I think this will be a roughly 60-40 race unless there is another big fire. We're at the beginning of LA's typical fire window and that runs until roughly October. Most severe fires are later in the year. If they have another nasty fire, which is entirely possible, I think that will change the dynamics enough to allow Pratt to win a squeaker. Beyond the margin of cheating. But it'll still be close. LA needs to suffer even more apparently.

Some of us care because like it or not, Kalifornia is still part of America. Also, some of us care about this race because we're hopeful that someone like Platt can come in, tip the apple cart over and rub these liberal idiots faces in the destruction that's been laid out for years with their support.
He may not be the greatest panacea or even an effective leader, but he seems more than willing to force the lunacy in LA to swallow their medicine instead of acting like there's not a horrible infection on their watch

I was simply stating that's why some of us NOT in Kalifornia care about the election there. HOPING, not ASSUMING he'd win so he take a wrecking ball to that stupid population

So, with the votes not finalized for a few more days an avowed Indian communist is running pretty tight with Pratt to get the second position.

If she somehow surpasses Pratt to get in runoff, LA is going to choose between a totally incompetent, low IQ incumbent, or an open communist.

What a place.

You don't know that. 5 months is an eternity in an election. No telling what might come out during the campaign. A year ago, who would have ever guessed a Republican would be in a runoff against an incumbent mayor?

Dude has 5 months to tell his story about his life got flipped turned upside down by Bass and the fire. A lot of people are going to take this very personally.

another benefit besides forcing the leftists to spend a lot of money in California

now for the first time since Arnold- there is a real race for Republicans to rally behind

this is psychologically important to show the GOP is a national party

Maybe. But not likely. If there's one absolute about liberals, they're FAR superior in the art of holding their nose to vote for the cretins they're supposed to vote for as long as it helps them achieve their goals. Conservatives are much more likely to sit on their hands and take the moral high road, results be damned

I think you're right. Pratt's message will resonate with a good chunk of the city, but not enough to overcome the Democrat cult loyalties there.

It blows my fuggin mind that they're going to reelect somebody who's so demonstrably incompetent; this isn't national politics where you can hand wave away outcomes because the cause and effect are so disconnected. The fire hydrants and reservoir literally didn't have water during a fire despite prior warnings to her office. Buuuut whatever. Not my city.

I don't care for LA per se; I just believe that applying conservative policies after years of left-wing ones will result in measurable improvements, thereby prompting similar voting shifts in other blue areas. I prefer that this happen sooner rather than later because I worry about the influx of those escaping the idiocy into Texas for fear that they will negatively affect our politics.

The hive mind is strong in LA and other liberal strongholds. If anything Pratt hopefully has created the template moving forward to break the hive open and free the inmates.

Fun fact about Karen Bass.

In the 1970's she was organizer for Venceremos Brigade, a pro-Revolutionary Cuba, Pro-Communist, organization.

She visited Cuba eight times in the 1970's.

She's not only dumb and incompetent, she's a commie.

I'd say Pratt should make more light of this but in Los Angeles it would probably help her.

Pratt will lose in the runoff due to grifters, free loaders and low IQ voters. They would rather pay more taxes to provide fake teeth to homeless drug addicts who live in tents on the sidewalk and use public parks and walkways as toilets, than have to take personal responsibility for their own lives and reduce government handouts.

Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot etc were not stupid. They killed plenty of useful idiots to further their corrupt ambitions. The Democrats / Marxists have already pushed the notion of re-education camps resulting in hordes of sheep parroting this craziness.

this has been widely known for quite some time, but we live in two completely different worlds. the masses who consume msm and stay in their corners on social media either have no idea or actually support it and the masses who don't really follow any news at all will remain oblivious. but a democrat candidate being a communist is like a frog's ass being water-tight. they're pretty much all full communist at this point and don't even pretend to hide it anymore.

The funny thing is, Pratt isn't even running on conservative principles. "The fire hydrants should have water in them" isn't conservative. "Homeless people shouldn't be shooting up drugs in front of an elementary school" isn't conservative (far left progressives think so but nobody else does).

Most of what he's saying is apolitical common sense but they're going to reject it for somebody they know is incompetent just because he's a registered republican.

Blows my mind.

I forget about Karen's history. So, you have two communists and one pragmatic guy running for mayor. Bass no longer advertises her communist roots, but the Indian chick is openly communist.

I think it's great Pratt has made such a splash so like someone else said maybe his rise will at least force some commonsense changes by the commie leaders to at least figure out basic blocking and tackling. Doubtful this happens with low IQ Karen, but possible with the Indian lady if she somehow wins.

elections should be secure
borders should be secure
violent crime should be punished
government shouldn't waste our money
your daughter shouldn't compete with dudes
admissions/appointments/hiring should be based on merit; not pigment
and yes, of course, fire hydrants should have water

Is Pratt actually through to the runoff? Everything I see says that the idiotic California vote counting won't be done for several days so we won't know for a while. Of course this gives them every opportunity to do what they can to elevate the Indian communist candidate into 2nd place if it's a better outcome.
