Too bad Gilley's closed decades ago. That would have blown their minds.

This British couple is a good follow on Youtube. They are absolutely mesmerized by everything America. It's great to see things through their eyes. Makes you appreciate America even more.
British Couple Love America

I'd gladly take this awesome British couple in Texas. Maybe they can displace some of the 3rd world barbarians that Joe Biden let in.

They are starting to investigate and look into the process of coming here permanently legally

We'll happily trade them 4 for 1, our socialist Democrats for their freedom-loving Europeans.

Each party should be thoroughly happy with the result.

For anyone interested, I have a friend who bought 2 tickets to the World Cup final on July 19, 2026. This idiot didn't realize that he's getting married that same day. So if anyone wants to go in his place, it's at the First Baptist Church in Dallas. The girl's name is Sharon, and everything has already been paid for. Let me know if you're interested.

My ex-wife is British.
There was a couple of things she could cook, but could destroy many more.
First time we went dinner I had to ask what food she liked. "Mexican food. I love it. "
Cool.

The book "The Loo Sanction" has a line in it that has proven itself over and over.
"Where an Englishman sets his foot, cooking dies."

This.

The Brits and Scots invented Scotch and IPA's. At least Ireland can get their alcohol right.

One could argue that fish and chips and fried chicken are good, but it's still done better over here.

On one of his radio shows one St Patrick's Day, Jean Shepherd (author of the story about the kid wanting a Red Ryder bb gun for Christmas) told about being in Dublin on St Patrick's Day.

He had arrived the night before and a journalist met him that morning to take him to their office. But first, they stopped off at a bar for Guinness and a chaser of Paddy's.

After talking and finishing their drink, they went to another bar for breakfast, again with Guinness and chaser of Paddy's.

As they were leaving, they ran into some journalists who the journalist with him knew. They all went to another bar for a session with multiple rounds of Guinness with chasers of Paddy's.

Being St Patrick's Day and since Jean Shepherd was from the US, they started talking about St Patrick's Day in the US. One of the journalists spoke up and said something to the effect of, "Just once, I'd like to go to the US so that I could celebrate a real St Patrick's Day."

I was in Dublin for a St Patrick's day. It wasn't much different than any other typical day in ireland.

and by that i mean everyone was drunk

Met a bunch of Swedes here in Dallas last night. They chose last night of all nights to go to Cowboys Red River (Thursday is ladies night) to experience a Texas saloon, so they had a great time (even though they were wearing a soccer kit instead of jeans and boots). They're loving Dallas.

Read what it says. Mustard, folks. A real Cuban has mustard, not that demonic mayonaise on it.

The last couple of restaurants I've been to that had Cubans on the menu had mayo on them. I'm like **** YOU YOU *******S.

Sorry, but you don't put mayo on a Cuban. period.

Same is true of burgers. I don't trust a burger joint where you have to tell them "Mustard, no mayo". It's supposed to just come that way. And if you have to tell them "No ketchup either.", just f'n leave.

Interesting that CBS news would run that story. I assume their new CEO(?) had something to do with that.

Are any of the other MSMs reporting on these America-loving tourists yet? (Honestly don't know, but do know Democrats wouldn't want anyone to know about it.)

Will be interesting to see the attendance of the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028, after the World Cup experience.

Screw that mess! Just trying to put together a few event tickets for a week or so, it was quickly out pacing the two week Patagonia cruise in doing BEFORE travel, lodging, and meals. Just the event tickets. Forget it!

Plus the way they're doing limited releases and draws made it too difficult to see if you'd be able to get tickets to other events and i feel like I'd have been committing to one thing without knowing if I could get tickets to other things/events around it to justify even trying.

I was just in Italy, France, and Spain for about two weeks. I honestly didn't pick up on any anti-Trump or anti-American sentiment. Our flights back, Barcelona to LHR and LHR to Austin, were full of Euros coming to the US for the world cup and they were having a blast.

Isn't that kind of standard for the IOC? Or is that being handled by Los Angeles? I've never been to an Olympics but have friends who have and not getting their first or even second choices of events was the norm.

Pretty rich having an Irish man chide Scots for drinking too much. I think Boston's Irish population was embarrassed when Scots outdrank them in a matter of days in their own backyard.

To be fair, the Scots probably outdrank them because for the first time in their lives they probably had alcohol that wasn't absolute bog water garbage and realized that drinking good alcohol makes you want to drink more*

Ketchup is a vile substance only to be eaten in small quantities with fries.

But mayo on a burger is good. Anybody that says otherwise is a communist heathern. Mustard on a burger is good too. Sometimes both at the same time on a burger are good.

Honestly I don't know. I signed up for the draw at LA28.com. Frist draw came around and things that I wanted to attend showed unavailable. So either the bots got in and bought up everything within seconds or they were slow releasing tickets. I think there could be an element of the latter because a few weeks later I was getting emails for draw 2.

Sorry... I'm not particularly inclined to create an itinerary when I have to fill in the gaps weeks apart and commit money to things piece-mail.

I get the Olympics hate and so forth from the politics and economics side... But I've still got a soft spot and nostalgia for them and I would really like to go sometime.
