No kidding. It would be one thing if Martin was a 180 WR. But the dude plays LT. Talk about a big titty baby.

I wondered if that rant would ever make it to Sherman and Zach Taylor. It took longer than I thought.

Incognito sounds like a Hernandez type psychopath, I wouldn't doubt him directly threatening Martin with visible weapons. Also, when people act that crazy, I don't care who you are, it's very unsettling.

Incognito is not the type of guy who would take an ass beating lying down. He would go above and beyond to get revenge.

Okay, let's not get overly dramatic about this. It was hazing no doubt. And one that sounds like it may have gone too far. But to compare Incognito to Hernandez is asinine. And it wasn't just Incognito. Mike Pouncey was also involved.

Martin just threw away any chance the Dolphins had of making the playoffs. Maybe it was something that had to be done. Seems to me this was something that could have and should have been resolved internally.

I'm going to email my cousin (a Fish fan that played DT with Miss St) and get his thoughts on the matter.

If you fear for your life or he threatened you with weapons (which is speculation on your part right?) you go to the cops. End of story. This guy is an adult, not some 14y/o kid being picked-on via facebook. Maybe I'm simplifying things but as an adult, you sould be able to handle this situation before it even gets to this point, and that doesn't necessarily mean fighting him.

Edit- Agbeliever, I was speaking more to Vander, not you. I think we're on the same page here.

Yeah, well, some of us have experienced trash talking where a person says, "I'm going to kill you" and don't take it literally.

I'm sorry. Incognito MIGHT be psychopath. But Pouncey too? And others in the OL that participated? We have a whole group that is ready to off the new guy?

I'm sorry but that is getting a little too hokey for me.

I think we have a big titty baby here.

They were TEAMMATES!! This was a STARTER, (not a rookie) on the O-line. All involved with this "hazing" have issues.

This O-line was pretty before all of this, Tannehill is really going to get killed now.

You know incognito has a criminal record right? Widely known as one of the dirtiest players in the league.

One can only guess now what caused that guy a few years back to swing a helmet at him.

The rest of those guys are enablers. Enablers that were living high off money through incognitos intimidation scam.

There's a reason the fins suck. This isn't the way to run an organization.

This was way out of control. And since incognito was a team leader, there's no reason to believe Martin wouldn't have paid a heavy price for dealing with this internally.

Well Pouncey was subpoenaed in the Hernandez trial and was good friends with Hernandez correct? So maybe he is someone you would be a little scared of? Or at least shouldn't try to kick his ass?

I don't care how big you are. There are some people you just don't f*** with.

Incognito has a terrible history. Suspended by Nebraksa. Re-instated, only to be charged with 3 counts of assalt at a party and then kicked out of Nebraska. Transferred to Oregon but was kicked off the team. Voted dirtiest player in the league. Punched and knocked out a security guard at a bar.

There is a video on TMZ of Incognito going off on a shirtless rage at a bar. You can see from the rage how you would not want any part of him in a confrontation....regardless of your size.

Also, Martin isn't exactly your everyday NFL badass. His father, grandfather, and great grandfather all went to Harvard. He went to Stanford. My guess is that he's not your typical big nasty with a mean streak in him.

If I was Dolphins ownership, heads would roll. A team with this type of leadership void from the coaching staff and team leaders isn't going to accomplish anything significant.

I like Tannehill and his skill set but he has always seemed passive. I can't imagine him getting in incognito's face and keeping him in line.

My impression of phillbin was that he was intelligent and he was a great OC in Green Bay. Maybe he's just in over his head.

I have thought Ireland was a Dbag since his encounter with dez Bryant before the draft.

However it is accomplished, forcing someone to pay $30,000 for another person's vacation is criminal. That is extortion.

I hope the NFL has to defend a multi-million lawsuit for aiding and abetting in criminal extortion. In my opinion, looking the other way when they knew this was widely practiced in their organization, is criminal.

The rich veterans stealing from rookies must be stopped. Most rookies only get a few paychecks before they are cut. A big lawsuit will stop it.

Incognito should not be worried about his reputation. He should hire a defense attorney.

I'd also ask how anyone here knows he didn't fight back? Not all bullies back down from a fight. In many cases, the fight is what they were seeking and they just keep pushing it further.

Also, last I checked, someone is in process of being released by the Dolphins. I'd say someone fought back.

Bear in mind that as this is going down, Hernandez is under arrest for murder. Whom Pouncey knows well.

If an NFL player with a criminal record threatened to kill you after Hermandez, you're not out of your mind to believe it.

> > If I was Dolphins ownership, heads would roll. <<

Why now? They've tolerated this guy and put him on their team knowing his past. This sounds like a case where the latest antic was just made public or was a breaking point in the public's eye. The Dolphins seemed fine with this guy as long as not too much of his crap was known.

Not to mention that after all this guy's transgressions, he gets suspended for essentially sending a derogatory text. Every NFL team knows rookies get conned into taking out a bunch of guys to high dollar restaurants where the vets party. That's been going on forever. One team, and perhaps the NFL, get(s) involved only after a text goes viral.

Priorities and their timing.

A lot of drama queens here. Not surprising though in the new feminized America that we live in.

Not condoning what Incognito, Pouncey and apparently the rest of the Miami OL did. However, most of this apparently stems from the Las Vegas trip that Martin was told he had to pay for. Even though he coughed up the 15k to pay for the trip, he chose not to go and it looks like the rest of the Miami OL saw that as a slap in the face.

As Ninja said, Prince probably went through worse. Nate Newton said this stuff went on with the Cowboys. This stuff goes on. Remember the rift between Roy Williams and Dez when Dez refused to carry his pads?

This is more New Army versus Old Army imo opinion than it is Incognito versus Martin.

Obviously Sherman wasn't too upset by what he was witnessing with his OL.

quote:
there was an incident that happened in the team cafeteria after he had gone public with the fact that he was being mistreated somehow. At lunch one day, he sat down the team cafeteria and everybody else at the table got up and left.

Because they thought he was a back stabber and a tattletale and a whiner or whatever, and that was the last straw for him. He threw his food on the floor and left the team.

Last time I checked, this is PROFESSIONAL football. In any other PROFESSIONAL environment, this is exactly how a harrassed employee would be taught to respond. Yet, in PRO football, Martin is expected to respond like a neanderthal, just because he weighs 300 lbs? Martin may not be cut out for the NFL, but Incognito should never work again. Name one PROFESSION where he would get another chance (well, the Houston hand doctor comes to mind, but even he lost his license).

...and whoever decided that Incognito should be a team leader is an epic fool.

I'll tell you what also goes on - many of these guys end up broke after an average career length of 3 years. This is childish, moronic, and wouldn't be accepted in other professions.

Philbin is weak. Sherman is weak. It doesn't surprise me at all that this went on during their watch.

Edit: Alright. It's from a movie relating to a somewhat similar situation, but I'll edit it out.
