Even he started at the bottom. I remember he used to do a LOT of Texans games during some lean years. He's done the time and greatly improved.

Thank you, I came across that during the game, but X refreshed randomly and I lost it. I laughed hard

This team is to be commended for their bounce back from a terrible start to the season. They're a pretty intriguing team considering the dearth of elite teams this year. Makes me wonder what could have been if Caserio hadn't been the only person on earth to think this OL was good enough and if Mixon wasn't an idiot.

Yeah as much we ***** and moan this team is rolling at the right time.

Good news is defense plays in January and this defense is insane. They'll always have a chance.

This team is what it is, frustrating offense and great defense…let's hope they make a run in the playoffs.

We sat next to about 15 people that were all part of Dicker's family in town for the holidays watching the game. Was kind of awkward every time he missed an easy kick and blew the game today ... lmao

Isn't a loss v colts next week the only way Texans are the 7 seed?

Yep. We'd have to finish 11-6 (or the very unlikely 11-5-1) with the Chargers and Bills finishing 12-5.

Given where this team is right now with an elite defense and questionable QB play I've been thinking about a fun what if scenario this offseason. What if the team is eliminated after another game where the defense gives up less than 17 points, which they've averaged this season, and Stroud just doesn't look like he's the guy? What if the Texans made a trade for Burrow?

The Bengals have already said it'll take a Ricky Williams level trade to make it happen, but I don't believe that. Burrow is 29 and injury prone, so there is a real cap on what compensation can be. As of right now the bengals pick 9th so they can't get a QB at the top of the draft as it currently stands. Stroud being a young QB on a rookie deal with two more years of team control matters. He's also an Ohio State QB who did the O-H-I-O with the crowd when we played there. He's one of the few QBs their fans would get behind if traded for Burrow.

The real question is what gets the deal done? Stroud plus two firsts? What if the bengals say they'll do the deal for Stroud + WAJ? When I look around the league is there a team better suited for trading for Burrow than Houston? Burrow would get to play in a domed stadium in the south in a favorable division in a state with no income tax as well, why wouldn't he waive his no trade clause?

The more I think about it the more Caserio has to at a minimum pick up the phone and see what the cost really is if we know we can't win with him at the helm. If just curious what y'all think about that.

I don't see the Texans parting with Will Anderson Jr. Burrow for a first round pick and Stroud would be a no brainer for the Texans imo but it would probably take two first round picks since the Texans would be drafting prettty late.

So that Sauce Gardner trade is going to hurt the Colts nicely it appears.

They're in a real bad spot. Between no draft capital and having to figure out whether Daniel Jones, on a big contract, is the guy, their GM will have to be very creative.

I would even do Burrow and 2 1sts. But I think it takes more. Probably Burrow and 3 1sts. Then it gets dicey, but if your thought is QB play is the only thing keeping you from a championship yet, you do it.

Caserio would have to be insane to trade WAJ.

Stroud on the other hand is looking more and more like a guy regressing to being David Carr. He just can't step up in the pocket or make a hot read.

They are totally F'ed from that. And to think tha5 some thought he was the better prospect than Stingley,,,,,

he's a great player, but that injury is going to take all off season plus some to heal. Plus what the colts gave up, plus Jones likes being out half the year next year,,,,,

they are in a bad spot.

I say good!

don't put it past that idiot….. He wouldn't trade WAj, but he may trade something else…….

not a fan of his,,,,,, Plus, he has zero personality…. Not that it matters, but it makes it easier for me to cut ties, (Which I think they should)…. He has proven he can't put a talented OL or Offense together.

also…. They are firing Nick Caley regardless. My guess is Mike McDaniel will be your OC for the Texans next year,

Let's not go crazy here. David Carr is one of the worst QBs of all time.

If you're going to put all that on his lap, you should also be prepared to give him some sort of credit for that defense too.

Looking ahead, if the Bills and Jags win today, do we play starters next week on the slim probability that the Jags or Bills lose next week to bad teams? Not much to lose as im not sure being 6th or 7th really makes much of a difference and that would also take the Chargers beating the Broncos, and I'd imagine the Chargers may rest Herbert as well. In that situation, I rest all our important guys next week (or at least get them out as soon as the Jags take control of the game over the Titans)

I submit that the Texans offense isn't really all that bad except in one very important category . They are middle of the league in yards per game and even scoring. The area where they totally suck is the red zone , 31st in the league and it's for a variety of reasons including these top few , 1) very frustrating untimely and unnecessary penalties , 2) they just can't seem to pick up pressure when it's clear the defense is bringing a blitz and more often than not the QB panics and at best wastes a play and at worst takes a sack or turns it over . Also, too often in the red zone when they attempt to run the ball it's a slow developing play that results in negative yardage . This has to be the area of focus for them to make a playoff run. I don't know that they have it in them but they have to work on this aspect to have any chance imo . Picking up rushers and adjusting play call tendencies to take advantage of what the defenses are likely to do in any situation seems in order . Continue to do what they have done all season in the red zone will have an all too predictable ending .

Fairbairn is a nice weapon to have at your disposal . He's way overused.

The defense is at championship level imo .

Kind of a fun day to scoreboard-watch…sadly, I am in the Chattanooga TV market (visiting family) and I have the choice of Saints-Titans or Dolphins-Bucs for the early game.

Frankly he's been the offensive MVP of the team for several years.

No doubt. That's the problem in a nutshell. They suck at scoring TD's in the red zone.

Steelers trying to let the Ravens back in the playoffs, down 10-0 to the Browns in the first quarter.

I really don't want to get the #5 seed and wind up back in Baltimore. If Pittsburgh doesn't rally, their week 18 games at Baltimore is for a playoff spot.

10-0 Colts
Taylor already has 11 carries and there are 13 minutes left in the first half.
