As soon as we didn't score a TD on that bull**** motion penalty, I had a bad feeling.

Then CJ decided to effectively end his future in the NFL with one of the single worst performances I've ever seen. Rough end to the year when it was all there for the taking.

Trad edit Burrows, sign a veteran with a new OC and spend on the OL, idk. I just know the answer isn't on the roster and if we waste another year of this defense it'll be time to clean house in the front office.

Texans would be wise to find a good veteran QB like stafford

That was a good throw and decision. Moore quit on the route. Williams is 4x the QB Stroud is, because in a million years of trying, CJ couldn't pull off the play Williams did at the end of that Bears/Rans game.

I'm convinced the dude just doesn't put in the work required to be successful. Rookie success got to his head and now his low football IQ has been multiplied by his lack of preparation.

Could just as easily get a Daniel Jones or Sam Darnold with competent coaching. Someone who is more mature and still has the tools but is willing to work.

It seems the only way the Texans can reach the AFC Championship Game is to get at least the No. 2 seed, and that will probably require 13-4 or better. The Texans finished 12-5, but the Jaguars completed a very surprising 9-game turnaround from 4-13 to 13-4 to win the AFC South and get the No. 3 seed. The Texans are 0-7 in the Divisional Round, but all of those losses were on the road.

the offense sucks for sure, but i genuinely don't think we're in as horrible shape on the line as is believed. cj routinely held the ball too long, and he routinely got nervous in the pocket and ran himself into sacks. poor decisions, poor footwork and pocket presence, silly mistakes pre snap, no awareness, etc- the kind of stuff that keeps an offense from functioning regardless of how good the other players are or are not. ersery looks like a solid pick that you have to bank on improving in year 2, ingram should be a keeper, and tytus will be fine at the other guard. trent brown was pretty good when he played, im not against him being back and if he isn't i think he's proof that you can find a right tackle without a major allocation of resources. center is a massive need that solves in theory a big part of the run game struggles while hopefully putting an end to the way interior pass rushers abused the offense all the time. qb aside, tight end will be a need as well but brevin jordan returning should mitigate that to being able to focus on a blocking tight end late in the draft. wr1 is fine and higgins will get the season at wr2 to sink or swim, hopefully between noel and kirk and dell if he ever comes back, slot isn't a need. rb is a need but that will look much different knowing that in time to address it. finding a complement to marks shouldn't require a high round pick. so from where im sitting, the only non qb position that absolutely must be improved via high draft pick or FA $ is center.

defensively, safety is the big need, but beyond that you're looking at depth mainly.

we're not in bad shape with the roster, i don't buy the sentiment that going with another qb won't matter because of the horrible situation around him. that horrible situation was mostly one of cj's own making. mills didn't have the same problems that seem to plague cj in the passing game. the protection just improved magically by replacing cj. unfortunately mills brings his own world of problems bc he's not very good, but he at least demonstrated that cj is the source of his own struggles more often than not. this team is so close and the afc is winnable. with better qb play this team is likely the top seed in the afc. this is the sort of opportunity that doesn't come around often, or ever for some teams. can't waste it hoping cj figures it out. even if he plays well, this kind of melt down will haunt a qb in the playoffs til it becomes a t-mac can't get out of the first round thing. his career as a texan is over, no need to drag this out

So. What's the chances we find out tomorrow that CJ was injured and that's what caused all the turnovers. Either a hand issue or a concussion that he was cleared to play with but it lingered.

He wasn't great this season and losing Nico basically for both playoff games didn't help but these two games were such a **** show I wonder if something else was there.

***BREAKING NEWS***
It has been confirmed, Houston Texans starting QB, CJ Stroud, played the entire game with a broken uterus!

Yes. His camp wants an extension, we'll find out about why he needed surgery on his shoulder at some point.

David Carr 2.0, He's afraid to get hit, clearly playing scared so he rushes things and makes bad decisions and throws.

The more I think about this, Stroud's play probably has made it a very easy decision to go another route at QB.

Reality is the OL has been sub par all year. That doesn't absolve Stroud's regression, but the OL has been a mess. What's out there in free agency that would provide immediate help?

Cj could have the best line ever and he'd still do the same. Just with more time in the pocket. He's indecisive, has no pocket presence and doesn't know when to get rid of the ball.

I concur with Seth. The pick 6 throw there's no way to justify.

Not sure how it is his fault that CJ can't throw the ball in front of instead of behind his WRs

Stroud is a horrible decision maker and always has been, that won't change even if you put the best OL in history in front of him.

For sure. he should have ate several of those, especially the one where the TE fell down and he just panicked and threw it up for grabs.

I use to think he was just young and would grow out of it, now I am realizing he's just dumb.

When you're someone's manager and they get worse and worse at the job that you're supposed to be coaching them at, it usually doesn't go well for you.

Yesterday, Choke Job Stroud showed us a good rendition of what would have happened if David Carr had ever made the playoffs.

As annoying as Aikman might have sounded yesterday, I felt he really held his tongue. CJ was a total joke yesterday and should have been pulled after INT #3 when we still had half a chance. Demeco leaving him is jsut as inexcusable as Stroud's play.

Absolutely not. Good to very good is still more fun than watching or experiencing being really bad.

also...7 of 16 teams (43%) make the playoffs every year in the AFC or NFC

so making the playoffs each season is not a significant accomplishment anymore

Reality is CJ isn't going anywhere. His camp will want an extension and may have him sit out until they get it.

Texans should look for a trade if you can get one. That or find a ring hungry vet to take the reins.

Likely, the team needs to load up on offensive weapons with speed and hope that you are 1-2 pieces away from a good OL.
