There has to be that kind of stuff going on. Look at the WR that Philly got, Lemon. He had been on the phone with Pitt who said they were going to select him. The family were celebrating. Philly started calling him suddenly and jumped up last second to steal him from Pitt.

So then everybody upset with Caserio for trading up 2 spots to get him saying he didn't need to shouldn't be upset because we probably knew we needed to do it in order to get our guy.

Initially I was pissed about the trade, mainly because I didn't even know who this guy is, but the more stuff I've seen and read about him today the happier I am about it.

I think the misreport on the 2nd round pick being part of the trade also caused a lot of us to be quick to dismiss this. But yeah, the more I dig into him the happier I get. For example, this is a crazy stat:

i know hill has had a lot of mention but i'm kinda hoping to see kyle louis as the lb the texans come out with. i think he can be had a little later than hill too. his pass coverage is outstanding for an inside lb, i think he'd be a great fit for the scheme

also hoping to see a tight end with one of these picks today

I wouldn't mind Taylen Green tomorrow. That way when Stroud goes full knucklehead in the playoffs we can just run a bunch of VY zone reads and try to win ugly with our defense.

Sounds like the Giants were very likely to take McDonald with their pick, so Caserio cut in line. In the past (save for round 1 in 2023) his moves have felt chaotic and haphazard, but this year it looks like they have good intel on other teams and a draft board they're convicted in. Both trades up so far have looked like we swooped in to get guys just before the teams who wanted them could take them. I appreciate the conviction and the strategy. Would be a great result if these guys pan out.

I think it's hard to be critical of Caserio overall given how strong the roster has gotten in a relatively short amount of time.

I think it is because their roster is more complete and they aren't necessarily trying to fill a bunch of holes, they are truly drafting who they want.
