With dual coverage of the draft, the crew on the ABC channel just deemed our new TE as a developmental pick who needs to get stronger and improve his route running and increase his play speed. Said he also needs do do better in contested situations and improve his blocking.

I think Dalton Schultz is on borrowed time. We need an upgrade there. But again, not sure this guy is that. Hill would have been a better pick.

It's legitimately an indefensible pick at the back of the second round. I can't even wrap my head around what they're thinking. Biggest reach of the entire draft and I don't see that being topped.
The TE the bears just took would have been a better pick.

everything i've seen leading up to the draft by anyone whose opinion i respect had him 3rd to 4th. not saying i agree or don't agree with the pick but there's no chance he was a 5th imo
this is the downside of internet mock drafts being such a popular thing. suddenly everyone believes they have this undeniable understanding of where nfl teams value these players along with trade values of picks and all. whether or not you like the pick is one thing but the overreaction to projections gets a little silly. if anything his true value is a second rounder because that's where he was drafted. again, i'm not making a case either way on the player himself but at least let him get on the field. some of the guys people are lamenting passing on are flat out not fits for the texans schemes and would never be taken
