More ports and remakes. Never would have guessed Xbox would have the best showcase

Hype, though that trailer was very limited. 10 seconds of the opening scene before Navi starts yelling.

Fire Emblem and Xenoblade was all I needed. Metal Gear Solid collection 2 is a huge bonus (it'll be on all systems probably, but a confirmed release date) and then Ocarina was the cherry on top.

Sure... I'm stoked for an Ocarina of Time remake. But why just release that and not do a bundled release with a Majora's Mask remake? But it's Nintendo, so I'm sure they want to sell me both remakes for $80 each.

Last year, we got an amazing remake of Oblivion for only $30. That's how you do remakes, Nintendo.

You know why. Because people are still going to pay $80 each. I'm absolutely going to pay $80 for Ocarina of Time. I'll absolutely pay $80 for Majora's Mask. I'll absolutely pay $80 for Twilight Princess.

I couldn't give a **** less about anything announced today...

until OoT.

Obviously it's been rumored for months, but man that still got me excited.

That is my favorite game of all time. Can't wait to play it again with modern day graphics, cutscenes, voice acting, and fully orchestrated sountrack.

Because they're two different games?

Hey, we should consider ourselves lucky they didn't split OoT into three full-price games.

What game did Sony do that for? Square did it for FFVII.

Oblivion was also shadow-dropped and launched on multiple platforms. Not a great comparison point to an Ocarina of Time remake that is very clearly going to be the Holiday '26 tentpole push for Nintendo.

OoT also a GOAT candidate. Oblivion is not in the same stratosphere.

In other news, I'm sold on the Switch 2 now after seeing OoT and knowing there will be a mainline Zelda to follow on the platform at some point.

My internal debate is, do I buy before the 9/1 $50 price increase or wait to attempt to get the inevitable Zelda LE Switch 2.

Decisions, decisions…

This is how you know OoT is different from other games. The "after seeing OoT" where all we saw was just a higher res Link sleeping on a cot is enough to prompt hardware purchases? It's a different ballgame. Never had any interest in a Switch 2 and then I saw 5 seconds of this clearly unoptimized teaser and said: "**** it, I'm in..."

Ocarina of time was a cornerstone of my childhood. I remember playing that game so much, so they definitely hit me square in the nostalgia zone for that.

Now they just need to remaster Goldeneye 007 and I'll be set

Sure, but they are also mechanically, visually, engine-wise and story-wise sister games.

Obviously it's all a money grab. I'm just saying I wish they would have remastered both and released them as a bundle. Just would have been cool.

I'm a Majora's Mask over OOT person, so I really wanted Majora's Mask.

On another note, it will be interesting to see the reception of Elden Ring on Switch 2. I'm assuming they are hoping it grabs a lot of Nintendo players to help hype up Duskbloods, which was always a headscratcher for me. I'm assuming Nintendo paid FromSoft a ****load of money for that exclusive and hope it's great, but your average Nintendo player is not usually your average FromSoft player.

If we were talking about remasters, I would agree.

This is a ground-up remake though. Hugely different things.

Cannot wait! Lord knows how many hours I spent playing that game.

I wonder if it's a like-for-like map and story line with the updated graphics, or are they revamping Hyrule to make it more explorable like BOTW or TOTK. Either way, I'm in.

Did you ever play the remastered Goldeneye that released on the Wii? I want to say it was around 2009. It was excellent!
They used Daniel Craig as the character model lol

I was surprised by how much 3rd party support they showed yesterday. It was impressive to see! Besides launching a Metaphor port 2 years afterwards, there were some solid 3rd party titles in the mix

Speaking of, anyone thinking about picking up First Light when it drops for Switch 2?

That would be a downgrade to me. I find the world in BOTW to be too open. A little more linear storyline would be better.

OoT was my favorite game as a kid and the first time I beat a game of that size. I can't wait for this. Off the charts nostalgia.

I fall into the trap every iteration of nintendo hardware. Nintendo games really aren't for me but the hype drives me to buy. It's just the same thing over and over again. Very few unique games that are actually good FOR ME.

End up just buying a small handful of games like mariokart and some family friendly cheap games. It's all nostalgia at this point. Mario Tennis was still quite fun so I get there is a market for bringing back old games but we fall for it over and over again.

Question for y'all.

I have a PS5 and the original switch. I love all the Mario games and I was thinking about biting the bullet and buying one of these. However, I want to make sure that there is no lag. Why? Because I also play a lot of Fortnite with my grandkids and it LAGS so bad on my original switch.

Has anyone played Fortnite on the Switch2?

I play Fortnite all the time on Switch 2. No issues. Noticeably smoother than on the original Switch.

I randomly played shovel knight on my kids switch on vacation and saw that the same developers just released a new game called Mina the Hollower so I downloaded and played it. Highly recommend for those who like old school 2d Zelda games. It's really good.
