Good thing the Coral has a hard time biting anything but toes and fingers, I would be the first person on the thread to need anti-venom. Could not find sucker for nothing.

So my dad got this for our son (remember he got bit last summer)
It was 1st published in 1950, this edition is from 1978..

yep. from a distance i thought copperhead because we've had them there before, but at that size, he should have had that chartreuse tail color. When i got closer, I saw the mascara.

So late last night, we were getting ready for bed. I was in the living room shutting things down when I heard my wife let out a loud "Holy Fck!". I walk over to see my wife at the foot of the bed staring into the master bathroom. First thought, dog must have puked his guts out. Nope, it was a 2+' juvenile Prairie King snake (based upon my amatuer TexAgs Snake Thread knowledge). I wanted to take a picture, but my wife seemed too unnerved for me to leave to search for my phone. I tossed a towel over the little guy and set him free outside. My wife had a hard time sleeping last night after the whole ordeal was over.

We have a nest of snakes living under the foundation below the master bedroom. It's common to see EYBR's running around, in & out of their snake holes. We've had small ribbon snakes make their way under the couch in the den, but nothing 2+ feet long. I guess I'll re-apply snake-away granuals around the house tomorrow. Not sure how the king got into the house, hopefully the snake-away helps deter them from coming inside again...
