I refuse to eat Zaxby'a when there's a perfectly good Laynes around the corner.
I don't really go to Zaxby's either, but every time I've been to that Layne's it was awful.Hornbeck said:

You aren't missing much, it dramatically pales in comparison to what it once was. They made a big expansion push in DFW approximately 6-7 years ago and most of the locations have since closed. Easily the worst wings that I've had in my life, and the pizza isn't much better.AggiePhil said:
Whatever happened to Mr. Gatti's coming back to BCS?

I've knowingly got food poisoning one time in my life. It was last year from that Laynes. Ate it for lunch and thought the chicken was extra juicy and something was up. Sure enough I'm puking my guts out a couple hours later.
So moral of the story, if you want some of best chicken tenders you've ever had, cook 'em medium rare and as a bonus you get to lose a little weight while you're at it.

Often times we associate our sickness with a certain meal but determining the true cause is much more difficult than we like to think. Unless you and several others who had different meal histories all got sick, it could have been plenty of other things you ate that week.Thisguy1 said:Hornbeck said:

I'm certainly guilty of it myself. My wife and I went to Zoner's and I put away a decent bit of buffalo chicken pizza and she had something else. No later than 10 minutes after getting home and I was throwing every last bite up. It hit her about an hour later. It probably wasn't from Zoner's but I'll never not associate the two and we never went back. There were other, conscious reasons we didn't return but I'm not so sure the illness didn't have a subconscious effect.EBrazosAg said:
I'm a medical professional and I approve your message….and have experienced it myself. You seldom really know the etiology of your GI bug, even if you think you do.
Wow. Honestly, I've never been there and I don't think I know anyone that has.BulldAg99 said:
Varsity Grillhouse already revamping menu. Not sure that's a good sign. It was pretty dead in there when we went Monday night.

the last 2 times I went to Laynes. The fries were pieces and cold. The last time I went in and made comment on the fries, the clerk just said that is what we had and went about her job. I said thanks and left. Will never go back.ElephantRider said:I don't really go to Zaxby's either, but every time I've been to that Layne's it was awful.Hornbeck said:

I just checked the photos on their FB page. Looks like they've installed a bunch of TVs in the main dining room.Psychag said:
Thirsty Thursday at Varsity. $2 off draft and BOGO1/2 burgers. Only time I've gone. I feel the inside is pretty stale to watch games and only 2 TVs (I think) in the main dining area.
Their burgers any better these days? I tried them a few months ago and the burger was salty, thin, and overcooked. Moo-yah had a better burger at the time.Psychag said:

That's too bad. They were one of the places I liked taking my kids because they get too distracted by screens.
