If our area would ever get a Denny's or IHOP, it would be great.PS3D said:I know it's been a meme for years but this town desperately needs more 24/7 dining options. Drive-through McDonald's isn't cutting it.TiderAg said:

This is the answer. Put that thing in South CS and you'll be shooing parents away with a stick.sirhc said:
A good brewery/outdoor bar space that is also kid friendly (or restaurants that are more kid friendly like a hat creek). We moved here from the Austin area and miss that most.

Comparing Whataburger to a waitservice restaurant is like the "we have X at home" meme.australopithecus robustus said:PS3D said:Closed on Monday, no longer 24 hours, drive-through, drive-through.australopithecus robustus said:PS3D said:I know it's been a meme for years but this town desperately needs more 24/7 dining options. So what? It's just a day. Seems smart business to me.
Open till 3:30am, might as well be 24
Nope
Prove.it. Not so sure
I meant full service restaurant and definitely not drive-through. (At least Whataburger has the dining room.)australopithecus robustus said:
Waitservice restaurant? Do you mean full service?
You didn't specify that originally. You just said 24 hour.
In the words one of my most eloquent teachers who taught me critical writing….. "say what you mean".
I can't imagine why anyone would want a Buc-ee's locally if they thought about it for more than three seconds, the only reasons I can think of are:LB12Diamond said:Need to convert the brookshire brothers to a Bucees.TyHolden said:

- you haven't been to one recently and don't realize all the good food options are gone
Was at the Waller Buc-ee's last month. The ordering kiosks are all gone. There is 1 at the pick-up counter with only 1 or 2 options. I don't remember what they were. The made to order sandwiches are no longer available. You could only choose from the premade selections.Quote:
Have they gotten rid of more than that?

Trader Joe's
The signature club sandwich is gone, with its chipotle mayo, lettuce, and tomato (the "club melt" near the BBQ sandwiches is a sad imitation lacking vegetables), as is the BLT, the pastrami, and others (including the wraps).Counterpoint said:PS3D said:I meant full service restaurant and definitely not drive-through. I hate that you can't custom order tacos and burritos anymore. Have they gotten rid of more than that?
I like the idea of this as a venue, but I hate the idea of bringing in yet another corporate chain type place.Bob Yancy said:TyHolden said:That is my dream right there...Bob Yancy said:

lol. It could happen

Think like Billy Bob's Fort Worth, Gilley's Dallas, Brewster Street in Corpus. Or smaller places like Main Street Crossing in Tomball, The Western Club, The Mucky Duck, etc.
Every venue has to deal with ticketmaster to some extent, but the big places like House of Blues or Ole Red are full ticketmaster prices. They price gouge on everything inside the venue as well as admission fees.
A nice clean place where you can get dinner and watch a great show would be awesome to have here. I just can't afford a place that is a full live nation/ticketmaster venue.
I'm really doubtful the "new" Chicken Oil Co. will be any good since all their cooks, etc. have left. I hope it doesn't become one of those places that's rather average at best but people will still be convinced its the best burger in town because that's what it was ten years ago.Brutal Puffin said:

I did, just after COVID and for two years following. Like with call centers, it has left me more sympathetic to those in those in their positions. I'm sure emergency personnel (paramedics, fire, police, nurses) would appreciate a good late-night place.TXAG 05 said:PS3D said:Closed on Monday, no longer 24 hours, drive-through, drive-through.australopithecus robustus said:PS3D said:I know it's been a meme for years but this town desperately needs more 24/7 dining options. Do you work weird hours or something? Why the want for more 24hr places?

You think the cooks were the reason they were successful? They can train more cooks, it's just burgers and fries.
