I think the Jamal Adams trade was better for the Jets.

They got a player, 2 firsts, and a third.

I am in favor of the trade but think the cowboys could have gotten more if this trade was made earlier in the year.

And the Seahawks picks were much earlier in the first than the Packers picks will be most likely.

I think the problem was no team wanted to pay him that much and give up the picks. So maybe the Packers deal was the best available.

All things being equal they're not trading him in the NFC if there was an equal trade offer in the AFC. Packers gave them the most so they took it.

If they wanted to get the best deal they should have started all of this in the spring before the draft but Cowboys gonna Cowboys.

Guess it should have been lower than 93%.

Seahawks were 11-5 in 2019 and 12-4 in 2020. So they were essentially the Green Bay packers and then fell off some. At the time the trade was made, they weren't thought to be great picks.

Bob is usually the one who cuts through the emotional, poorly informed takes of the others.

- Two #1's and change from a good team is all they were ever going to get. That's the rate for a top defensive player
- He fades every year. That wont get better with age
- They've tried the Dak-CD-Micah formula for 4 years. It isn't working. Dak-CD-Pickens with a shored up run defense and still a roster of quality edges might
- If Pickens does work out, now you can pay him. Bob has been on their ass about the fact they'll lose him if he's good. That's fixed now
- My only regret is that they didn't get this in the spring so they could have one of those #1s on their roster

I think this trade coupled with Luka makes it feel much worse (even though the Luka trade is 5x more egregious imo).

With apologies to Mikko, CeeDee, and Corey - it just sucks as a fan to have the two best and most exciting Dallas athletes shipped out. Luka being a top 5 player and Micah being a top 5 defensive player.

I know there is talk of salary cap, and trade capital, and all that jazz about how this actually makes sense, but that's all fugazi in the present. It won't mean much when I tune in on Thursday.

On an island I think a lot of fans could stomach the Micah trade, but paired with the Luka trade it just feels like I'm getting sports kicked in the crotch. Hoping that five years down the line I can look back and say it was worth it in the end.

Sweet Spot is crying about how bad this trade is and trashing Jerry. Also equating it with the Luka deal which is absurd.

I know, it's what I get for listening to the Sweet Spot.

I would describe it as the most generic sports talk possible - the type that was on other generic sports stations in 2003 - and thus the type of show the Ticket in its heyday would mock

The station is embarrassing itself with its coverage of the trade. I just don't understand how they can all collectively talk out of their ass like this. There must be an agenda by the Dallas media to use this to rip on Jerry. 24 hours ago Parsons was a pass rush specialist that was undersized and disappeared down the stretch every season while being a headache in the locker room but was worth $38-$42 million a year. Now the Cowboys get a really good run stopper and two 1st and it comes out Parsons gets $47 million which is 20% more than he's actually worth. Dallas has drafted multiple rush players and there is no guarantee GB has some incredible season yet the ticket is acting like the cowboys have no edge guys and GB is an auto fill for the NFC title game. Smells fishy.
This reminds me of the station talking college football where they say fans are tired of watching the same programs make the playoff yet they all advocate for the same teams (OU and Notre Dame). They talk out of both sides of their mouth.

For those saying they could have gotten more, I would need to see at least 1 or two trades in NFL history the past 20 years where a team got more.

if you want to add the caveat "not involving a qb" maybe but just in spring 2022 deshaun watson to cleveland and russell wilson to denver netted more.

Yea was talking about non-qb trades. Should have specified. I know QBs have gotten more, which makes sense bc they are worth it if they pan out (although other than Stafford they rarely do).

Listened to The Musers podcast today and it was a Cowboys special edition with Bob. It was done before the Micah trade so not timely at all.

Some of it was okay but a lot of generic stuff.

They're going to go back to their normal podcast on Wednesdays and then a Cowboys one on Thursday. Curious the attention for the Cowboys one as I can't imagine it's anymore insight into what's on the station already.

I'll keep listening to the Wednesday one because I'm a diehard Muser but if you don't have a tie to them, I don't see how you'd find it interesting.

Not a knock on you, Bob. I think most Musers fans want a little less football and more entertainment. It's why we tune into them.

I have to give it to them, this week's podcast is an absolute powerhouse episode! They spent the first 45 minutes giving us the low down on how Jerry Jones is a great owner, but a lousy "football man." It was fresh sports talk on a subject that never gets attention. It's definitely NOT the same generic sports talk they made fun of Grandpa Urine for spitting out 25 years ago. Definitely not. These guys are doing something unique and thoughtful.

They end the podcast on a high note by discussing what makes football great and amazingly finding a way to make it all about themselves. I mean, when you can listen to Junes wax poetic about why he loves football, how can you NOT listen?

Next week we get to hear George talk about his passion in life (spoiler, it's going to be him getting emotional talking about music). I wasn't sure how they would top episodes about Craig cycling and Gordo being insane (Did you know he owns Lee Harvey Oswald's bathtub? Wild!). Oh...and who can forget their "Back to School" episode? Riveting stuff here.

(Of course, I'm obviously a masochistic idiot for continuing to listen.)

George is a simpleton and is going to cry at any memory of a life event. Nothing wrong with that. It's the reason he clings to the SWC. Doesn't mean he is an idiot, he clings to his childhood memories and nothing wrong with that. He just cannot see the future.

Speaking of music, was it Baldy that did the 8:40 bit yesterday and turned that Jub and Junior argument into a Red Dirt and U2 song?

I know it's AI but it was really impressive how much it sounded like a real band while using Jub and Junior's argument from however long ago.
