Did they permanently make the pigskin panel a total revolving panel? I thought I heard that Cowlishaw wasn't on this past week?

They said he was on vacation this week.

2) Is the Georgio Hot Fry Player of the Week a casualty of the reduced hours? I don't recall it being awarded this season.

Give me Joel Klatt (JoelKlatt) and Brian Jones too. Ed Worder is ok.

It is remarkable how we only believe what we want to believe.
Yup. Tribal politics is utterly fascinating. Conservatives who mocked cancel culture and who claim to be "first speech absolutists" are suddenly cool with the federal government strong-arming people out who say the wrong thing. And on the flip side, liberals who basically invented cancel culture are losing their sh/t. Complete brain rot, on both sides…solely so you can say "see? My team won!" And the funniest part is that nobody on "their team" (referring to politicians) would piss on them if they were on fire.

Troy had a buddy that worked for Ben E Keith come get him. Troy didn't know he was working when he said he'd come get him. Said he and his buddy got a huge laugh out of it when they watched the doc.

He also mentioned that that occurred after shoulder surgery following his first or second season. But the Netflix show edited it to make it look like he was leaving the hospital post playoff concussion.
It was a good story. Troy is consistently a solid guest.

Late to the party.
1) Kimmel is a serial liar and propagandist. The "joke" part of this had nothing to do with the offense.
2) ABC is not required to employ and would probably love to be rid of him and his salary.
3) FB and X have much more cultural importance than late night talk. Where were you defenders when conservative voices were being stifled on those platforms. I don't see direct FCC involvement in the current case but we don't have to hypothetical about when the other side is in power. We have already experienced it.
4) the evolution of woke george makes me sad. Used to enjoy listening to the guy.

Not sure how everyone does not see this as an issue.

Kimmel got fired because his ratings sucked and ABC saw an easy opportunity to make the FCC happy on a larger scale. Bigger fish to fry.
He's had a history with dumbass political comments, and ABC is just using this as an excuse.
Free speech means that yes you can say what you want, but employment at will means that your employer can still fire you for saying something stupid.
The key here, was ABC mad or the FCC. His comments didn't strike me as anything outside of what would normally air on a show like that. Mildly offensive and targeted but not dangerous.
It's the lie that he insinuated about the shooter being MAGA.

Even if you believe thats what he meant, how on earth would that warrant fcc intervention. I realize it made people mad but thats not a good enough reason.
🚨 BREAKING: Jimmy Kimmel was planning on DOUBLING DOWN and ATTACKING MAGA (again) before he got SUSPENDED 🚨

ABC Executives told Kimmel to go on-air and APOLOGIZE… but instead, he had wrote a “VERY HOT” monologue, “taking aim at MAGA” 🤯
Disney said “We can’t have him go on… pic.twitter.com/FwEvxHuqF3
NEWS Disney’s CEO Bob Iger and co-chair Dana Walden made the decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel’s show after he planned to double down and go on camera to defend his lie that MAGA voters killed Charlie Kirk rather than "kowtow” to the outrage, Hollywood Reporter reports. Nexstar explicitly denied that their decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel’s show was due to FCC pressure. May I kindly request that we take the Jimmy Kimmel talk to this thread on the Politics board?

I saw all the new replies and thought a host died or was quitting. As a reminder, this thread is to be used exclusively to discuss how much Corby sucks, the Musers are coasting, nobody cares about the Invasion or the Sweet Spot, they should have made Sirois Tier 1, the station has become unlistenable but we all still listen anyway, and every once and a while, to get a report from an inside source that insists Craig is secretly gay.

Nexstar submitting to FCC pressure bc they need merger approval is the most plausible explanation I've seen. Of course Nexstar is going to deny that that's what happened.

theres an excellent chance cumulus doesnt clear Christmas and whoever buys them will need fcc approval to expand the current limited number of frequencies per market.
DZ episode Thursday hinted that ktck was told to not discuss it anymore
Im wondering if musers are sticking around for a potential severance / buyout
