A friend was recently laughing about how terrible Houston TV and radio personalities are with all the stupid schtiks and characters, and "Sexy Traffic" was the first thing I thought of.

I'm usually not on a app while driving. Traffic updates are useful.

GTFO - when you're stopped dead in traffic or BEFORE you leave either your work space or your home you should be able to pull up the App.

i pretty much drive around looking at my Google Maps app with traffic turned on.

If I'm stopped dead in traffic its a little late don't you think? I do not make it a point to check traffic before I leave. If I happen to hear a traffic update on the radio and it tells me about a route I'm taking (once every 20 times maybe?). Sorry if I find that helpful.

They can be very helpful, especially with wrecks/closures that would change the route.

But, more importantly, there's a certain level of professionalism that every other traffic person has. Just hit delays/impacted times on major roads, make notes of any significant accidents, and professional about it. Pretty much every other person manages to do that. I don't understand why that one in particular has to make it seem like it's the worst job in the world. They'd be better served to just not do any traffic than trot that attitude out there all the time.

Glad to see that Josh left with some professionalism, what a dick.

Love that Josh is gone, but I absolutely hate that Sean is splitting from John. They were by far my favorite combination and, to me, Rich was just as bad as Josh be in a completely different sucky kind of way. F.

I'll actually flip over to 610 every once in a while now.

Nhayden - I flipped between 1560 and 610 on my drive home when I heard the news. I didn't catch the end of the show, what did he do?

It's in the Chronicle, he blasted Lord by saying that he was leaving 610 because of him and that he won't miss him at all. I am no Lord fan in fact I don't like him at all, but at least Josh could have been professional on the way out the door. I had a friend that worked for 610 a few years ago and he told me how Lord operated and how he was never prepared going on air and that he was a bit of a dick, however in my eyes Josh should leave with dignity and respect, IMO.

I'm guessing Seannys leaving for more money? Rich Lord is no doubt the cockroach of 610. Does just enough to not get fired but brings nothing to the table.

Sports radio in Houston is the WORST. There's talent but its so spread out you have to search it out. You would think some of these guys could make a pact to all stay together and create a station worth listening to all day.

I guess it was tried with the original 1560 but signal and lack of long term funds wouldn't let it get traction.

But let's face it until August Houston sports radio is going to SUCK if you're not a basketball fan. The Astros suck and you can only handle so much draft talk.

This time, at least there is not a local college quarterback in the draft that all the idiots in the city can rally behind to try and get the Texans to draft him.

Manziel talk will heat up and quite frankly I can get behind that if they trade back a little.

Remember when he sent a letter to the Sports Editor in the Chron where he espoused on the usual obscure topics and stats that nobody knew, so be would look like he does all this research and is a Joel Buschbom of sorts and just knows everything?

Yeah. Turns out he lifted all of that from some small publication in the northeast. NY I think it was. Rich Lord also happens to use that same source for news from that area and be saw that Mike had plagiarized the whole thing.

Rich wrote to the Chron sports editor and the printed his letter where he called out Mike. Mike didn't call the show again for a LONG time.

Plus, he sounds like Sol Rosenerg from the "Jerky Boys" tapes.

Rich Lord is a tool. He called out Richard Justice on air for not washing his hands after seeing him in the restroom at a Texans game.

I can't imagine Sean enjoying a show with a rich.

People that don't wash their hands in the restroom need to be shamed.
