She just gave the best ironic quote EVER.

"I don't want this to come across as performative ..."

Not even the worse comment. Garcia made some weird statements about "Loving me some Jeremy and wanting to take big bites of him."

Some Democrats funded a PAC to make sure Lina's candidate doesn't win the Democrat primary:

https://thekec.org/#endorsements

They're also supporting Abbie Kamin's opponent in the County Attorney's race.

Sheila Jackson Lee's daughter, Erica Lee Carter, is now the Harris County Administrator. So you know, things will decay further and quicker.

Another Democrat retread hired into an administrative role with no real job search. Awesome.

She will make sure the government table at Pappadeaux stays full Monday thru Thursday…

Q: Who manages the maintenance of public green spaces, surface streets, sidewalks and parks, including trash hauling, in the 3rd and 5th Wards?

Q: Which party has control of city and county government?

Q: Why do they, the Democrats in charge, service predominantly white neighborhoods more effectively than poorer, brown neighborhoods?

Q: if Democrats are in control, and they, on purpose, provide less services to predominantly black neighborhoods, then why do predominantly black neighborhoods continue to vote Democrat?

It's a conundrum

Quote:

"We have had people share offices," Hidalgo said. "So it's five community engagement staff and eight policy staff that are sharing a conference room because of asbestos, and I have a communications staff obviously important because of my role as a spokesperson for the county that would be displaced if this plan goes through. So it's not feasible for me.

Quote:

"See, you're being cute," Hidalgo said, cutting off Peña and prompting Commissioner Adrian Garcia to call for a point of order. "You serve at the pleasure of the commissioners, of course you're going to be cute. But the point is, there was no vote. Please send it back to the space planning committee, take a vote."

Hidalgo then promptly exited the chambers. The conversation continued, and Garcia apologized for Hidalgo's comments. He said the county judge's staff is working in poor conditions because she failed them by not considering their working conditions.

Commissioners passed the item unanimously on Thursday while Hidalgo was absent. The project will take about a month to complete.

So before they started talking about the office door, she made comments that the office that continues to bully her. I think she's referring to Briones.
Around 2:06 in the recording.

Around 2:30 is the argument between Lina and Bronies.

I think she's not running again because the democrats ran her off.

Dora is a perfect example of what you get when you combine helicopter parenting and zero-tolerance of bullying.

One can only hope we see a full-blown meltdown from Dora in a commissioners court meeting. On camera.

It would be glorious to behold.

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo walked out of Thursday's Commissioners Court meeting during a dispute over a proposed second doorway to Commissioner Lesley Briones office.

Quote:

"Frankly, if we're allowed, I'd like to discuss 259 out here because I don't want my wall torn down," Hidalgo said during the meeting. "I don't need my office wall torn down by the office that continues to bully me."

Quote:

Hidalgo said she supports the need for two doors but objected to the location.

"I agree. Your team needs two egress doors. It's so important. I agree. Here's the issue… they don't need to come from my office," Hidalgo said.
