You have to see how this plays out. Maybe the problems have left the team.

If we do make a change, I hope we do it while there's still a lot of talent on campus and before the wheels completely fall off ala Fran. After next year at the latest and that may be too late with the trajectory things.

The fan base needs Sumlin to come out and be honest about the situation. He can't come out and give basic statements like he's talking to the radio before halftime. Honesty... accountability.... leadership

Agree. Sumlin is bigger and better than any punk-ass kid that was good in High School but not couldn't hack it in the SEC. If you think there's someone better for A&M out there not named Saban or Meyer, please post the name so we can all laugh at you.

We were light years from mediocre during those two regimes.

But I will admit, it's a tough day for Sumlin supporters.

We are probably going to have a 9 win season playing in the toughest league in football. And he's proven that he fixes problems over the year and is willing to make necessary midcourse corrections.

It's not like we're tying SMU or losing to Arkansas State!

Starting to wonder if ka and km leaving is part of Sumlin's plan...maybe he knew them to be cancers on the program. I find it hard to believe that the o staff is off limits in this rehabilitation though. Wonder if wI'll ever know.

Sumlin's buy out means we should keep him. I think there at least 30 coaches better for A&M than him. Assuming we found a way out of his buy out we absoloutley need to move in a new direction. I don't think we get one of the elites, but w/something approaching his & his staffs salary we can do much better. Not necessarily beating Saban & contending for national championships (we need a truly elite coach for that) but staying competitive w/any team we play, consistently going 3-3 or so in the SEC west, & going 10-2 or better when our schedule sets up well (like this year).

He is a failure. No way you allow TWO five-stars to get away from you like that. It all runs uphill.

Things are looking really bad right now, and I think the way that Kyle was handled was completely ****ed up. But Sumlin's put this program on a lot better footing than I thought it would ever be. The fact that we're melting down over an 8-4 season in the SECW tells us how far we've come. I'm not as happy as I could be, but I think he's still the man for the job.

This. I don't want to minimize what's going on currently...and when the truth comes out, it maybe enough to fire him. But today, I am not willing to call for his head.

I'll support him until I have real information to change my mind. Too many people losing their minds over rumors and speculation.

So far, he's led A&M to four bowl games in our first four years in the SEC, winning all of them so far. Our "bad" years have been 8-4. Recruiting is better than it used to be and Aggie Football in general seems to be a much bigger deal than it was when he arrived. The second half of this season was a disappointment, but I think Sumlin has the coaching ability to turn it around. I won't give in to emotional reactions that have us blowing the whole thing up because we didn't get what we wanted right away.

Needs to get the O-line fixed.

QB mess needs fixed and will settle once Kyler leaves or grows up.

One press conference I think he owes it to everyone to just stay calm and tell us what is going on. Not too much to ask. If he ends this one leaving everyone thinking he has no plan, going to be a revolt. I support him until it is confirmed we make no changes at OC.

Neither qb that has/is leaving was going to do well with the current players we have. Like overhauling a pro football team and starting over.

Come on everyone, look at the big picture. I think Sumlin has screwed up and made some mistakes, and now we're paying the price. But I think jumping the gun and firing him is the wrong thing to do.

At this point, we need to have some confidence he'll fix this thing.

Honestly, I hate to lose either QB, but I'm really not sure Kyler is our future at QB. He looks timid, slides on scrambles about 10 yards from the closest defender like he's afraid to get hit, and reminds me of Ryan Mallett with his sideline antics.

I guess what I'm saying is, if kyler bolts, I'm disappointed but more because of the egg on our faces as a program than anything else. We already lost the QB that really mattered IMO.

I just hope this is a wake up call for Sumlin. If he's spending all his time being the front man for the program but not taking care of things internally, I think he's a competent person and will rectify this.

If not, we'll be having this same discussion this time next year.

We will learn about him a lot over these next few weeks. I think he can handle it.

Sumlin is an asshat and has run this this into the ground, has shown the inability to develop talented and highly recruited players, allowed his offense to mire in total ineptness, deteriorated each year since JFF, has completely lost the team, and mishandled, on a ginormous scale, a QB situation which has turned from an embarrassment of riches to a total joke resulting in two starters leaving the team rather than playing for him.

Support him? RU kidding me? I'd fire his ass today, right now, no questions or an afterthought. If you disagree, well, you just can't be helped.

The damage is done. The only thing Sumlin has really brought is stellar recruiting, and with what has gone on, his ability to recruit is going to be seriously undercut. Time to blow it up and start over.
