Auburn would be an actual interesting 3rd permanent. Would feel "real" SEC unlike drawing State or Pigs.

There are 8 schools in Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas (the west group), and 8 in the other states (the east group). For permanent rivals, every school could have 2 rivals from their geographic (east or west) group and 1 from the other group. This would help maintain conference unity.

Arkansas
LSU
tu
Those should be the three. All historical rivals

I don't understand this at all- why do sips so obviously get to dictate their three teams ahead of the Ags? It's beyond transparent. I don't get how they have so much say in a league they just joined.

tu, lsu and ark would definitely be the top traditional choices from our perspective . I have to think Arky is the only one that is even a question . Arky is a tough one . I think their fans might say LSU , Ole Miss and tu but the conference has a Mizzou dilemma as well. Other than OU who does Mizzou have any real traditional rivalry with in the SEC? I think tu is absolutely a lock for OU and A& M and if they get their choice they'd probably pick Arky as their 3rd.
If I had to bet I'd bet our permarivals won't include Arky. Clanga is the most likely answer
Why do you even still pretend to be anything other than a slob knobbin sip.levytrousersEOY said:Bill Superman said:sip will get to pick its rivals first of course. This is why we'll be stuck with Miss St or some other bum school.fightintxaggie10 said:

Perhaps it's more about those 3 teams getting to pick them! There are a lot of programs that want a piece of their a** but only three will be guaranteed to get to take a swing each and every year.

That is what I would prefer too. However, it was supposedly Miss St instead of Arkansas the last time this was discussed.
dont understand this. I hate Texas, therefore I would love to play them every year.TX AG 88 said:

Give me corn dog and two of the easiest we can get in the SEC. I'd love to only play tu half the time (or whatever the cycle rate will be). Eff 'em.

It's fear in its purest form.

As a Texas fan I love getting all 3 of the rivals, but I can see an upside for OU fans getting just one traditional power and then Mizzou and another 2nd tier school.
If I was an A&M fan I'd want the easiest possible 3rd permanent game after being saddled with LSU and Texas every year.

The more things change, the more they stay the same!
Doesn't feel like the SEC if a third of our games are from former SWC and '80's/'90s opponents.

Dominated Ole Miss? I must have missed that.Kozmozag said:
Picking two top 10 teams to be teams we play every year is stupid. 76-35 and 36-23. Do we want to get into the playoff or not. We are undefeated against Vandy. Have dominated ol miss. And so. Carolina.
I don't see LSU giving us up as a rival - the only long term rivalry they have is Ole Miss - the rest of their rivalry's are as forced as they claim A&M is. OU has zero rivals in sec besides tu and Mizzou so they are just going to get random rival.LB12Diamond said:
Here's my guess.
Texas, Hogs & LSU or OU
The first two should be locks.
OU is the weird team in all of this.
They are obviously getting Texas and Mizzou. For their 3rd, they should get a team that's traditionally stronger. Three years ago it was floated out they were getting the Gators but I think they are not going to do that now. The Gators just have to many options from the East. And if LSU loses the Bama game because there is plenty of smoke they want an easier 3rd team, LSU most likely get the Gators instead. Or maybe they give LSU both OU and A&M.
We should get LSU instead of OU but if LSU ends up with Gators, A&M & Ole Miss, who's OU's 3rd team? The Vols? So the Vols would get Vandy, Bama, OU. Gators get Georgia, LSU, USC.

The rival term should not be used for some of the permanent opponents match ups. It's a waste of time using that word. Similar to us being matched up with USC.
As I noted, OUs locks are Mizzou and Texas. Their 3rd team should be a stronger program. I detailed out what I think might happen.
What 3rd opponent do you think they will get and why?

If you're on TD's for any amount of time, we are CLEARLY LSU's biggest rival…and it ain't close.
I don't know - just think it will be random (old) east division team.LB12Diamond said:
