Heads will roll if Deboar fails to make the expanded playoff twice.
There is no way the 2 teams playing in the SEC championship game are not in a 12 team playoff.
The committee should leave ND out with the instructions that ND needs to join a conference and that their free pass to the playoffs as an independent has expired

Nobody thought there would be 4 SEC teams with 1 conference loss and 3 teams with 2 conference losses
2 of the 3 teams with 2 losses both have wins over teams with one loss

11 & 12 are going to lesser conference champs. BYU had to be 10 or higher.

Sorry, I thought this was still an argument for BYU getting in at #11.
They may drop a spot but they are in. If conference championship games become something people don't want to play in that's bad for the game and TV networks. Bama would have been better off sending in us or Ole Miss with this outcome.

I think Alabama getting whipped is always beneficial.

No. They are not guaranteed this year. Still have to be highly ranked. So if Duke beats VA tonight, they are not in the playoffs because of 5 losses, even as ACC champs.

Not guaranteed for any particular conference, but is guaranteed for highest ranked conf champs.
Having to play ND in the first round is the hardest possible route any team is going to have who has to play the first round. So hopefully we can dodge that and maybe Bama falls to 10 so we can play them at home.
