Probably, but still a huge upgrade for Auburn…

Bussy.. man I was so excited to get him. But honestly he has not produced. Sorry just facts.

Reed is good enough to dominate weaker defenses like the B12.

At some point you have to stop the revolving door of QBs. This team is undefeated with Haynes King this year, but we gave up on him for the "better" Conner Weigman, who we also gave up on for the "better" Marcel Reed. Now y'all want to give up on Reed for the next "better" qb. Very few portal QBs are very good.

Absolutely ludicrous take. There is no way you actually believe this…King is still a walking turnover and a subpar passer.

Posted this earlier: I believe that we will lose Miles O'Neil to the portal.
Here is an "Early Look" for Possible QB Situations going into the 2026 season:
1. Marcel Reed 6'1'' 175 - Junior (RS) - Here in 2026.
- Starting QB for 2026
2. Miles O'Neill 6'5" 220 - Sophomore (RS) - Here in 2026 or Possible Portal Entry
- Possible QB #2 in 2026, if Brady Hart does not advance to QB #2 in 2026
3. Brady Hart 6'4" 195 - Freshman (RS) - Here in 2026
- Possible QB #2 in 2026 - Starting QB in 2027 / 2028
4. Helman Casuga 6'1" 220
- True Freshman - Will RS as a QB in 2026 - Will enroll in classes in January 2026.
- Possible starting QB in 2028 / 2029
5. Eli Marcos 6'1" 205 - Freshman (RS) - Probable Scout Team QB - Here in 2026
6. Paxton Land 6'4" 225 - Sophomore (RS) - Probable Scout Team QB - Here in 2026
We carried 6 QB's on the roster in 2025 and probably will do the same in 2026.
So in order for us to pick up a portal QB - We would need to lose one to the portal.

Does being in the portal mean a player is gone now?

He threw 5 ints all year. Thats fewer than Mendoza and Sayin.
He completed >70% of his passes. Has A&M ever had a QB do that?
He also ran for almost 1000 yards.

O'Neill for sure
He will be starting somewhere else next year as per other Qbs texags didn't want. His passing is a helluva lot sharper and accurate Than Reed.

Any elite OC with more experience would have game planned and won the Miami game (and possibly tu game) with A&M's existing roster.
If Marcel for example transferred to Lsu he would get better coaching, be utilized to strengths, and schemed to mitigate weaknesses. The only challenge would be keeping him healthy for the entire season. I don't fault our staff for managing the games the way they did from 1-12, but not learning anything and then forcing Marcel to operate in a box for entirety of game 13 was inexcusable. The players should be more upset than the fans.
Speed option and zone read w/Bussey and Morrow at tailback is what we should have been practicing for the last 3-weeks leading up to Miami game. No universe do we lose "that" particular game with more offensive creativity.
If Wiggins can articulate a compelling strategy for the future and convey to all the players (offense and defense) and their families, then we will retain the right talent.

King has had 70%+ completion percentages the last two seasons and only seven interceptions. Reed had six interceptions in his last three real games
