Yep, agents intentionally put out rumors that "[preferred landing spot's rival] are leading the free agency pursuit". The star player isnt really interested in going there, and the purpose is to leverage inflated offers from desperate teams in order pressure the preferred landing spot to pony up and match offers.

Either way, if tech is offering a significantly more than an sec team, cant blame him for taking that offer. guaranteed money, generate insane receiving stats against weak competition, and probably less of a toll on his body.

I'd rather spend that money on the other Coleman.. Chaz Coleman.

Exactly. We need to be breaking the bank to make sure we are controlling the line of scrimmage next year.

Also pick up a couple of WR's that are burners but maybe aren't too highly rated that can take the top off a defense. Will help the run game if nothing yet. I don't see the receiver position as an area of great concern for next year. Certainly not enough to buy a $4 million one year rental.

Spend the $$ on 2-3 proven studs at need positions.

On top of DL, we really need a proven, quality RB that can break tackles and make people miss. Owen's can't do that, although he may be a good 3rd down back because he pass protects and catches the football well. We really need a stud RB.
