I LOVE my Ags. And I am all in with the Kool Aid but watching teams like these two play really helps put things in perspective. It's easy to sit back and say "we got a natty coming this year!". But seeing the difference between what we just watched and A&M really helps me understand that it's a pipe dream. The level these guys play at isn't even in the same realm. What I can't understand is why we can't get there…ever….after repeated tries. I just don't get that part.

What are you ****ing talking about? Had there not been the most ridiculous cross wind in Kyle Field history we are playing (and imo beating) tOSU in the cotton bowl to head to the semis.

I wish we would have changed our offensive strategy but we didn't. That said we still had our chances. The further that game gets away from us while watching other results, the more it proves how much we belonged.

Only the saddest and most pathetic of people would still be whining at this point. Our team and coaching staff are on the right track.

TLDR: "Maybe next year."

It is so damn apparent in these bowl games. There was no way we were going to compete at this level this year. I bleed Maroon and will till the day I die, but Aggies also don't lie.

We are watching complete or nearly complete teams go at it. Simple as that. We have never been a complete team since Johnny left. It takes all three phases. We MIGHT get hot and a championship level at one of them at a time. Then the rest invariably fail that one. Offense, defense, special teams. We can't lock down all of them at once. Infuriating but it's plain as day. Small comfort in knowing there is about 128+ teams that are also in that rut.

I'm gonna need to read a recap of what just happened.

One second was left after the safety. Georgia did an onside kick, which they recovered. Since no one from the receiving team touched the ball, the clock never started, thus Georgia got the ball with one second left. It didn't hurt them, but Ole Miss might want to make sure everyone understands the clock rules.

A key point is that the clock didn't start because the UGA player recovered it while he was already on the ground. A brilliant awareness by Kirby Smart, and lack of rules knowledge by Ole Miss.

For those of you old enough to remember, Kordell Stewart's throw to Charles Johnson at the Big House was snapped from the 35. I'm surprised Stockton didn't try to throw it to the end zone.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it mattered that the Georgia player was already down. On a kick off, the clock doesn't start until the receiving team touches the ball. The play also ends immediately if the kicking team recovers the ball. Since no receiving team player touched the ball, the clock didn't start, and the play immediately ended when it was recovered.

It was one of the few times the TV analyst said it correctly. Before the kick, he said Ole Miss just needs to make sure they go out and batt the ball out of bounds. As long as they do that, the game ends no matter if Georgia recovers or not. Ole Miss just let Georgia recover the ball. It was clear they didn't understand the rule.

That is not what was said on the broadcast. I know the play is dead and the ball can't be advanced, but one would think the act of securing it would take a second.

You could be right. It would be interesting for the refs to explain the rule, but of course, the refs never speak to the press.

We are closer than you realize. The last piece will be an accurate QB able to run the offense.

I promise you if we had a QB able to hit our open receivers in the Miami game, we'd look every bit as dangerous as Ole Miss did tonight

Good grief get the hell out.

What did you see that was different than what this poster said?

Well, for starters there were 73 points scored in the game. Next, the young UGA line wore down the OM front. Next, our DBs are better than either unit out there tonight, and our O-line is as good. Our WR are just as good. I could go on, but you don't care. We're not far away, but what do I know - I've only been watching for 46 years. Best A&M defense since '91. Best offense since 2012. Gotta force more turnovers and get the play calling sequenced properly.

Cross winds effecting what? Field goals? Didn't cause two interceptions nor a qb fumble. We would have beaten OSU? No way in hell bud.

I guess he's saying it affected Reed's weak ass arm. All three of those turnovers were 100% on Reed making mistakes, not the wind

We find a way to lose that game on still day, and there's no way in hell we beat tOSU. It's ok to admit that we ended up not being as good as we thought

What they said was if a "grounded player" possesses the ball the clock doesn't start.

Personally I think it's the power hungry refs making it about them and disregarding common sense.

Stockton ended up with the ball at the end and got smashed. Because the refs decided to be front and center.

This was the best game in this year's playoffs, but it had the most bizarre ending I have ever seen in either an NFL or CFB game. It's extremely insane how the game ended with a Georgia safety and then the referees put back one second after a long review. Then, Georgia recovery an onside kick and still had one second left. The game ended Georgia throwing the ball and lateralling numerous times before time finally expired.

Congratulations to No. 6 Ole Miss on overcoming the loss of their head coach Lane Kiffin to upset No. 3 Georgia 39-35 in the quarterfinal Sugar Bowl to advance to the CFP Semifinal and face Miami in the Fiesta Bowl. After Georgia led Ole Miss 21-12 at halftime, Ole Miss outscored Georgia 27-13 in the 2nd half, including 20-10 in the 4th quarter. As a result, Ole Miss won 7 consecutive games since a 43-35 road loss to Georgia on 10/18 to improve to 13-1 (7-1 SEC). Also, Ole Miss avenged their only loss and snapped SEC Champion Georgia's 9-game winning streak to drop them to 12-2 (7-1 SEC). I noticed several other trends:

1. Geogia went one and done in the CFP quarterfinal after a first-round bye for the second straight year.

2. Ole Miss snapped Georgia's 75-game winning streak when leading after the 3rd quarter, which was the longest active streak in the FBS.

3. Kirby Smart has dropped to 5-3 in playoff games.

4. Kirby Smart has dropped to 2-3 (2-2 regular season, 0-1 playoffs) against Ole Miss.

5. Pete Goulding has improved to 2-0 in playoff games.

6. Playoff teams with a first-round bye are 1-7 (0-4 last year and 1-3 this year) in the 12-team playoff era, and Indiana was the only team to win a quarterfinal after a first-round bye.

7. Ole Miss is the only SEC team to reach the semifinals.

8. 151 combined points were scored in the two Ole Miss vs Georgia games.

9. The regular season winners are 0-3 in SEC rematches
A. Alabama defeated Georgia 24-21 in Athens on 9/27 but lost 28-7 to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game on 12/6.
B. Oklahoma defeated Alabama 23-21 in Tuscaloosa on 11/15 but lost 34-24 to Alabama in a first round playoff game at home on 12/19.
C. Georgia defeated Ole Miss 43-35 at home on 10/18 but lost 39-34 to Ole Miss in the CFP quarterfinal Sugar Bowl.
