Cashious Howell was #60 overall and a solid 4* in the transfer portal 2 years ago, loved the signing then and loved #20 Dez as well.

All I'm saying is add a nice 4* OT, WR and Edge and/or DT and I'll be happy. I know that my happiness is off little importance, just has me feeling better about it, which was the original question in this thread.

As someone who's concerned about how the offense will operate next season, I don't understand how you can come to this kind of conclusion regarding our portal game.

It's not a "portal", it's a pool of free agents. College is semi-pro now (Pro being NFL) and we should stop playing these word games. There are basically 4 varsity leagues and the rest are JV leagues and we should call it what it is. The players have agents too. Dust will settle in about 5 seasons.

Look at that list and tell me who above KC you'd have rather had? Hell, how many of those above Craver would you rather have?

Of all the portal additions the kicker has been by far the most exciting addition.

We need a QB. If we don't get a QB, then I don't want to hear all the crying that's going to happen next year when we don't make progress as a program. All the schools in the playoff have a QB that can make a play by throwing the ball when it is needed. We do not have this.

Tell me how we got better? We're replacing a lot off an 11 win team and I don't see the whole being better than those not returning.

I'm not going to cry if we don't get a QB. However, my expectations for next year will be low.

I would not mind picking up Novasad. At very least can compete with Hart for backup with some years under his belt. Would prefer to see both and MR in a somewhat open competition, although Reed definitely has the leg up right now.

Based on on experience needs, I felt our priorities would be OL, TE, DL, RB, & S. I'm pleased with the 12 currently committed:

OL-4
TE-2
DL-3
LB-1
S-1
K-1

I believe Elko will add at least 6 more to this. Should include a RB and another S.

Don't be so dense, either of them could be, or maybe will not be. But Howell was not an all SEC All American when we signed him, he was a good portal addition with potential, as they all are.

You can't compare incoming FR and portal players with outgoing 4 year experienced elite players that became that way over the last 2-4 years….

If we have don't have players at postions that pique the interests of NFL scouts, then we need to look at upgrades at said positions....regardless of who or where that is.

I'm not sure Marcel is piquing any interests of any NFL scouts.

I don't even know that they'd be interested in Owens at RB either.

The real contenders are putting 10+ into the NFL Draft each year.
Until we're doing that, we're not gonna be real contenders.

This year we'll have a respectable amount get drafted, maybe 6 or 7.
That's pretty good compared to our recent history of 3 to 4.
But it's a far cry from 10+

That's a good haul and addressing immediate needs. May still add a few more. We all said OL and in addition to good OL recruiting we go get 4 OL from SEC teams, that is strong work.

So far Elko has been really good with Transfer Portal upgrades and I expect this class to be no different.

OT Tyree Adams started LSU's first 7 games in his RS Soph year before his injury.
Through those 7 starts he received a 59.5 PFF grade overall, with a 53.7 Run Blocking grade and a 63.1 Pass Block grade.

RG Baugh received a 55.9 PFF Run Block grade and a 60.8 PFF Pass Block grade.

G Coen Echols had 8 starts, and played in 13 games in 2025 season. He received a 58.8 PFF overall grade, with a 59.0 Run Block grade and a 70.6 Pass Block grade.

TE Houston Thomas finished 2025 with a 62.9 grade according to PFF, and graded out with a 67.4 pass-blocking grade.

TE Richie Anderson finished 2025 with an overall grade of 57.1, according to PFF. He posted a 62.4 as a run blocker and 67.2 pass-blocking grade.

LB Ray Coney's PFF grades in 2025 were 86.2 overall grade, including 86.9 in run defense and 88.2 in tackles. He earned a 74.5 Pass Rush grade and a 70.7 Pass Coverage grade. Those are excellent numbers!

DE Anto Saka earned a PFF 77.7 overall grade with a 82.5 Pass Rush grade for the 2025 season.

DT Davis-Swain received a PFF 61.4 overall and a 62.2 Pass Rush grade.

And we broke many trends this year in only Elko's 2nd year.
Started 11-0. Last time that happened was in 92.

But per your post Elko is not interested in winning even though everything he's accomplished so far states otherwise..
