Every SEC team will have a tougher schedule with 9 conference games and 1 game against a Power 4 nonconference team. I think we have a floor of 7-5 (6-1 home and 1-4 away) and a ceiling of 10-2 (7-0 home and 3-2 away) with likely road losses to Alabama and Oklahoma and swing games against LSU (away), South Carolina (away), and Texas (home). My way-too-early 2026 prediction is 9-3 (7-0 home and 2-3 away) with road losses to LSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma.

All you've gotta ask is which one has better accuracy, with respectable mobility.
Not looking for Tom Brady precision, and not looking for Michael Vick moves....but damn, at least be able to throw it 10-15 yds thru the air, on target, to where the receiver can go make a play....and doesn't have to be a circus acrobat just to have a chance at it.

In fairness to Reed, he played well enough thru most of the season. But damn, his last 3 (non Samford) were pretty rough outings.
Here's to hoping he has an other-worldly off-season and becomes a 1st round Draft pick.

Since realistic and financially responsible isn't part of this hypothetical question, I'd start with any of the top 5 from any of the portal recruiting rankings, even though they're not that reliable in ranking portal players.
I think Leavitt was probably #1 in all of them.
The kid TxTech signed was likely top 5 in all.
Even Lagway was likely fringe top 5 in all of them.

To assume we couldn't have upgraded at the position is false.
We just chose not to, for varying reasons.

Indiana was ready to play from the opening kickoff every game. Not sure why but we weren't.
