Read my first post. I grew up a HUGE Sooner fan. My dad was Sooner class of 74 and I grew up going to games in Norman. In 1985 I was a junior in high school and already had full expectation to be attending OU in the fall of 1987. I lived, breathed, and everything else Sooner football. The Boz was my hero (I still have my #44 Boz jersey I wore back then), I lived and died by the wishbone. That january 1st of 1986 I was at a huge football party in Tulsa decked out in my Crimson and Cream. We had the OU-Penn St and the big screen and the Miami-Tennessee game on a small TV so we could see what was happening with #2 Miami. OU won a hard fought game against JoePa and his boys 25-10 and Tennessee destroyed the Canes 35-7 in the Sugar and OU was #1. Nothing like a bunch of crazed Sooner fans (most of then doctors) running up and down the street in the cold screaming "WE'RE NUMBER 1" at the top of our lungs just to annoy the Oklahoma State alums in the neighborhood. I wasn't a student at OU, BUT, it was MY school back then.

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." The words of Jesus; John 16:33
