I'm just saying, if you people are so adament about winning and winning now, how can you honestly choose Bonfire over MNC. If the rest of the nation saw this thread they would think we are the dumbest fans on the face of the planet. I realize that Bonfire means alot to Aggies and so it should. But to sit here and say that you would prefer it over a MNC is ludacris. How can ya'll ***** and moan about losing when you all are conceding a MNC for Bonfire?

I am editing my post..a few days ago I replied with MNC no doubt...after thinking about it for a few days and how I said MNC...I cant stop thinking about it...I have to change my answer to Bonfire....

It's the center of your love, not mine. It was one event that only a small percentage participated in. Many, many students (80's, 90's) just used that as a reason to have a party and go to yell practice.

I'm sorry you couldn't learn this without Bonfire. I love that no one ever comes back and says anything about the number of people that actually were at cut/stack. It's because it can't be argued.

Without a doubt. I was fortunate enough to help build three of them. Sadly, I only got to watch two of those burn. A national championship would be special for that one season, but bonfire is special every season. Those who never experienced bonfire will never understand this and I don't expect them to.

i really wish i would have gotten to experience bonfire.

i have sort of experienced what winning a MNC would feel like, as i was at the 2002 national championship game and surrounded by ohio state fans. the place was about 70/30 ohio state and the electricity at the fiesta bowl was unlike anything else i've ever been a part of. we stuck around for the trophy presentation and there were old men laughing and crying and hugging each other. it was simply amazing.

Bonfire period.

A&M is missing it badly. We NEED TO BRING IT BACK! I can't believe we haven't had a true bonfire since the fall. There is so much comradery and true Aggie spirit at the Bonfire.

Please bring it back.

Bonfire was the glue that held this campus and the spirit of Aggieland together.

The school now a days is a joke compared to when we had Bonfire. How do I know that? I am back in school and it is sad to walk through the campus or listen to the students attitudes now a days.

I much rather have the old A&M back then an NC in football.

Besides, for those idiots saying that we are holding A&M back because of the way we think...................................can anybody explain to me exactly how we are doing that???

Are we the once hiring the coaches?? or putting the football pats on and playing the game?? Exactly how is it that I a traditionalist is holding back this school??

Having a good athletic department and good academics is possible without losing ANY of our traditions. They are NOT mutualy exclusive.

Its not even a contest, a championship would do great things for the school as a whole, not just the football team. And if my memory serves me right, we are still doing bonfire...

I grew up going to Bonfire by Duncan and later at the Polo Fields. I felt tremendous pride watching it burn, though I hadn't helped build it. When I went to A&M I stupidly missed out on so much. I felt I was too fat to join the band(I was probably 30 pounds overweight), so I didn't. I felt I wasn't red-ass enough to participate in Bonfire, so after attending cut class, I never actually went to Load. Regrets are a b-tch.

Bonfire, no doubt. BYU can win a MNC, not anyplace can have Bonfire.
