MNC will get some news for 2 years at best. Bonfire united a school spirit. I've seen the decline from '99, and it isnt pretty. Also look at what we have now, if we win the MNC we're stuck with this staff, give me bonfire and a new staff.

whoa, this maybe the dumbest statement i have ever seen on texags. that would so suck to be "stuck" with a staff that won a national championship.

sorry forgot my winky face. we all know that this staff wont win a MNC in 3 years so its a moot point. However Fran is a turn around guy, not a program sustaing guy. I'm one of the few supporters Fran has left, but I can see the writing on the wall, he's great at the turn-around, he's never had sustained success anywhere. Personally I'ld really not like to be the school where he gets his first shot.

oh yeah, would you really want the tOSU or UT staff, knowing how completely corrupt they are? Winning a MNC is nice, but at the current costs...count me out for now.

i think part of the reason our teams never seem to win any championships is because there are people who have attitudes like actually prefer having a bonfire over winning the National Championship. i dont know if winning big is that important to people around here. for the record, i would easily rather have the Championship. not even close. as long as there are a significant amount of people who put winning big on the back burner to traditions (especially abolished traditions) our school aint gonna win jackshi*

Both, however if I had to make a choice...

I would choose Aggie Bonfire because it is a uniquely Aggie tradition that cannot be duplicated elsewhere. Someone wins the MNC every year.

Have you considered that great Aggie traditions like Bonfire are not mutually exclusive to having a winning football program? I strongly believe they are complementary.

You single-mindedness about winning, winning, winning with no importance placed on anything else is tiresome at best. If there is an impact on A&M football due to Aggie traditions, it is a positive impact.

I have never experienced bonfire. I have also never experienced a great Aggie football season. That said, I want bonfire back! I will still love Texas A&M no matter how well our football team does. I would much rather never see a MNC than never see bonfire again. I mean, come on, bringing bonfire back would help to mend a broken Aggie Spirit, not to mention it would be here for future generations. People will forget a MNC, but not bonfire.

It is amazing to me how many people would rather have bonfire than a MNC. Then again, it's one of those things that only an Aggie could understand (obviously).

This thread is a prime example of why the Admin. should let bonfire come back. Tradition killers suck. Tradition killers at a tradition laden school such as A&M swallow.

Bonfire, i never got to see it. But I talk to my cousin c/o 98, and she said the moral around campus was incredible. I don't see that here.

I didn't come to this school just to watch football( although it is great, even when were losing, i love K.F.) I came cause of what it instills in you. Thus i would love to see Bonfire back.
